A very delicious, healthy meal complete with carbohydrate, protein, vegetables, vitamins in spices etc. Your choice of sugarless ice tea drink is a very healthy drink as it's free of inflammatory material , that is sugar. Both of you made a very lucky couple that always feel grateful and thankful to whatever that you have, whether it's a food, scenery, experience etc. The fact that both of you always use very positive phrases such as delicious food, beautiful scenery, nice tables and chairs, beautiful people, good price, good place, just show that you are a very happy and contented positive persons. That curry you were asking about is called GULAI IKAN TONGKOL or Yellow fin tuna curry, in Malaysia the native name for Curry like dish are GULAI and IKAN mean FISH and TONGKOL means TUNA, its either Yellow fin or skip jack tuna. The Gulai is always eaten with the sticky rice called NASI DAGANG, its a mixed of red rice, normal rice with some fragrance sticky rice cook with coconut milk and some spices like fenugreek and cumin. That dish is very famous in the east coast of Malaysia where you can get a lot of seafood.

The fish is called ikan tongkol in Malay or in Kelantanese Malay it is called ikan aya. It is a kind of small sized tuna fish normally found in the sea of the east coast peninsular Malaysia. It is tasty because it is from the tuna family. The most delicious tuna fish is the blue fin tuna which is very famous in Japan. Really a giant fish but super expensive. It costs maybe more than USD 10K to buy one whole fish.

You came to the right place, Dan and Anna! Kak Som’s is a very east coast-centric restaurant. Her cooking is from Terengganu and Kelantan. Apart from nasi minyak and nasi dagang, you can also try her nasi kerabu. And what you mustn’t miss the next time is lada solok (stuffed green/yellow chilli). You can see this dish placed on top of a big pot, in your video at 12:09 to 12:11, top and 12:36. It’s basically chilli stuffed with fish paste and desiccated coconut, with coconut milk. This is a very traditional Kelantanese dish. Please try 😌😊 And the tuna in Malaysia normally is the skipjack tuna variety.

Well done Dan & Anna👏👏👏 You did justice to our malaysian cuisine. Anna's Nasi Dagang is the state of Kelantan's & Trengganu's national dish. The set of Dagang rice comes with a choice of either Tuna Curry or chicken curry served with raw salad of mix cucumber, pineapple and onions in a vinegar dressing. Dan's Nasi Minyak usually comes in a set with Curry Ayam(chicken) or Curry Daging (meat) and similar salad. Sometimes the Nasi Minyak comes with a mixed dhall curry of aubergines, potatoes and eithe small pieces of chicken or beef. You can also eat it with goat curry or a meat dish called masak OPOR or Ayam masak Merah (chicken cooked marinated with cili and tomato sauce). Nasi Minyak originally is a set served during Malay Weddings but you can eat it everyday now.😁 Enjoy. Thank whoever recommended you to Kak Som's. Its a place I can only eat there once in a while or I will gain weight unlike you both who exercise daily.
