to the viewers: i first had the meike 35, made me a better photographer. i have the sigma 30 now and i gave away the meike to my cuzin who is still new at photography. honestly, if you want to be better at photography, you should start with the meike. its like buying an old second hand car, you'll experience a lot of challenges but it will give you a lot of experience, thus leveling up your game. the only downside of the sigma 30 is that its manual focus is crap and there's nothing we can do about it. also, others will tell you that it distorts the image a little bit but its not something that lightroom cannot fix. i have a bag of lenses but the sigma 30 is in my camera 95% of the time. best lens ever!

The Sigma 30mm 1.4 is a fantastic lens. I mostly shoot music videos with Sony a6400. It's a good combo but since I got the tamron 17-50mm 2.8, I never used the sigma again for my musics videos. The tamron have less contrast and colors, not as sharp as the sigma but details are fine and with Slog or hlg profiles it's a pleasure grading the tamron footage. For events and photography I always shoot with the Sigma.

I have both, and for some reason I always get sharper images from the Meike. Great video though! I’m going to use my sigma today, and work with it more. Maybe I’m just used to carrying the Meike?

I agree. Sometimes, I feel that the Meike is also sharper than the Sigma. But when I really looked closely at a side by side comparison, Sigma really has the upper hand. Nonetheless, I’m glad that for Meike’s price, it can compete the lines of Sigma :)

Meike 1.7 around 2-3k here in physical is better than my 28-70mm sigma NON-ART lens. Whe it comes to sharpness and color. It's just hard to shoot video using a manual lens especially when it's sunny

Haven’t tried NEX series. But if it’s e-mount, these lenses should work fine.
