Fable is one of the few companies that doesn’t use Rice Bran or sunflower seed oil. Both are cheap fillers that aren’t good for the skin so it’s nice to see a company not skimping out on ingredients. Ordered the scribe, Dr wolf and got the sunken city butter/oil for free. Not to mention they’re pretty local to me so it’s nice to support local business. Love it.

If you have a grey or curly beard, then this stuff is a must. Thinner oils feel great going on, and they do what they need to do for your skin, but they do nothing for this kind of beard. The difference between what fable does for my beard vs. other oils is unbelievable. I like a few other companies as well, but Fable has started to take up the most space on my shelf. Now if they would only put out an Archer co-wash...

Dan c bearded, just a tip when smelling different scents. Between each scent smell black coffee beans. It's a tip I learnt as I make pure perfume oils etc. Learnt that from my teacher who worked for chancel perfumes. Your mind will be blown. Completely clears your nose 👌 amazing review so happy for the update. I'm 100% getting the teacher line just because your content is amazing

The bourbon from the distiller punched me in the face like the first 2 times I smelled out of bottle but I guess my nose adjusted almost immediately and now it's a beautiful scent. I LOVE it.

I ordered and am currently using the "Teacher" beard oil and beard butter from Fable. I have been using the product daily for about a month and really like it. I like the thickness of the oil and it really feels great in beard. Plus I love the berry smell and so does my family. Honestly it is my favorite oil I have ever used in my beard. I use the beard butter mostly at night, but lately I have been using it to tame my beard some like I used to do with beard balm. I don't like using beard balm at all and for me the Fable beard butter gives me enough hold to effective replace using beard balm. Great video and review as always!

I have been to Fable’s site and had things in my cart more than a few times. Their branding just really speaks to me because of the lore of it all, but I’m always hesitant on spending the money to try new products and scents. I’m a single dad and also take care of my disabled mom, so money is tight and I usually spend on scents and products I know and trust. However, this video has inspired some confidence in me. I love my Fable products. Their scents are amazing and I love the feel in beard. The butter not having oils does create a unique butter. It’s a “harder” butter to me, meaning it’s more difficult to get out of the container and to melt down. But, once it’s melted and in beard it is amazing!

Just recently tried their co-wash. I will have to use it for a longer period of time to make a fair assessment compared to my others, but so far I’m loving it. It’s a little thinner consistency when you pour it out, compared to the others I own, but the ingredients are solid and once you get it in beard, it does its job. Far better than Beard Octane. As you know from my previous comments, beard octane contains one of the really bad silicones, Amodimethicone. Initially, BO felt amazing and I was blown away. But I noticed over time, that on the days I didn’t use it, my beard felt worse than it had in years. Almost like my beard was becoming reliant on that specific formula (and likely the silicone). The more I used it, the more I had to keep using it or my beard felt crinkly and like my oils/butters weren’t absorbing properly. I can only imagine what it would do to your beard long term having the hairs coated with silicone every time you wash, since silicone compounds layers over time unless you use a very harsh stripping wash. It will quite literally block your oils and butters from absorbing into your hair. That’s a lot of expensive product and nourishment wasted. The Fable co-wash doesn’t leave your beard as “slick” feeling (or slimy, some might say) but after you get your oils in, it feels like everything absorbs much better. It rinses out fully but leaves your beard soft, rather than feeling like your beard is coated like head conditioner would do. I haven’t tried Fable’s oils yet since this was my first time buying from them but I will definitely try some on my next order. And I can definitely appreciate their geek marketing and how they pack/present their orders. All of the machismo companies fighting for the wittiest manly slogans and product descriptions are getting old. Fable’s marketing was a breath of fresh air.

Absolutely love Fable I have used the oils, butters, and balms never a bad experience. I currently have The Savoir (my favorite), The Grower, The Teacher, The Engineer, The Barkeep, and The Alchemist. If you’ve never tried the DIY oil (The Alchemist) I really recommend it, a create your own scent and viscosity it’s really cool. And when a owner of a company writes a hand written thank you, well then that’s the kind of company I wanna support. Great video great company.

Great video Dan! I love Fable!!! The Wizard truly is magical! I first bought the sample set, and I loved everyone of the scents. Especially the Distiller, my first full bottle scent, I have the butter balm and oil, absolutely LOVE IT. I really like the strong scents, they will easy last all day no problem. Feels great in beard, soaks into the skin really well. Collin the Wizard himself is an extremely fun person, and super helpful with quick response times whenever you may have a question. The barkeep is unscented that you can wear with scented oil or butter. I purchased the nurturer lotion for my wife she loves it. Love Fables scents and products, currently have 6 oils and butters, and I will def purchase more in the future, one thing I did notice from my first order to second order was the oil bottles in first order were full all the way to the neck of the bottles, the second order, just barely above the labels, kinda looks like I've used them multiple times although I haven't, that being said it wasn't enough that I felt the need to complain, just something I noticed and you asked for honest feedback. I was a little skeptical of Dr Wolf as I dont generally like tobacco scents ( some smell like ashtray), and normally blueberry is associated with nighttime scents. This scent in bottle is no where as great as in beard. Wow I’m glad I tried this, the distiller and Dr wolf are my favorites from fable. The distiller originally bothered me due to the bourbon smell like Sam C mention so much so I almost didn’t use it. But once in beard it is amazing and the bourbon smell is gone. Great company.

Fable is great. Feel in beard is amazing, I haven’t always loved every scent that I’ve got from them though. Nothing bad, just not my style I found out. I recently bought Dr. Wolf and The Distiller. I love both the scents. Dr Wolf is my favorite scent right now. When I received the package it smelled like apples, so I'm assuming Colin had The Grower on his hands while putting my package together. It smelled amazing. I'm tempted to get some of that now that I know what the amazing smell was from! My wife has a strong nose and she does not prefer the Distiller scent, so I'm going to pass the goods along to another beardsman to share the bounty. A word of caution: I had a buddy of mine smell them and he said that the Distiller was too real for him. He's been sober for awhile now and said it reminded him too much of being at the bar scene.

Tried Fable's sample pack back in October, the Scribe was probably the best coffee scent I've come across, however I felt the scents faded fairly quickly and I prefer something that lingers throughout the day. Maybe I'll give them another shot down the road when I need to restock my products. HA! Despite not yet finding a scent of theirs that I absolutely love (hated 2, liked the others), I have purchased from them a couple of times because their beard oil is great and so is the company.

Fable is so awesome! I just got my first order today and it was jack frost and the hero...two very different scent profiles but both so good...long lasting scents ! And their attention to detail with the "persona" of the company is amazing, sealed wax envelopes with your name as "sir _____" hand written... no company does that except fable!!! And free beard ornaments for Christmas... I plan on getting 4 more bottles in a few weeks including the teacher, sounds like a great scent! And last but certainly not least is the quality of the oil itself is second to none

I love Fable's oils and butter. I just have to adjust the amount compared to other companies because of the castor oil. Distiller is next on my list to get from them. I did buy some shave oil for the wife but she didn't like it because it's all fragrance and no essential oils and she really doesn't like the fake fragrances. She's only used it once or twice and now it just sits.
