John Mess is one of the most understated screamers in modern metal. His vocal control is unparalleled by most of his contemporaries. He just nails it. His breath and support are both incredible as well. Sounds EXACTLY like he does in studio live. Have never been able to see them, but hope I will in the future.

Tilian definitely does not... I cant find a single solid performance from him. Im a big fan of the albums but I couldnt get through a live show. This is one of his better performances and he's flat many, many times.

@@aidanivesdavis His vocal style is extremely taxing, so when they're touring he has to hold back at the right moments, and singing night after night is always going to lead to vocal fatigue. Watch the Tree City Sessions 2 performance and you'll see what he can do when his voice is well rested and he doesn't have to hold back to keep it healthy for a lengthy tour.

The crowd isnt dead, they are taking the input feeds, not recording the venue. This is for sound quality. When you can hear the crowd it means either it was clipped in for the effect or they are loud enough to get into the cardiod dynamic(?) Mic thev are using, which means when it picks them up they are FUCKING LOUD. Think about it tilian and jon are singing full force with their mouth and inch or 2 away and it sounds that loud, imagine how loud youd need to be to get picked up from that distance

This song gave the name for my band and now we're one of the best metal/post-hardcore bands in my town. There's a proverb in Russian language: "как корабль назовёшь, так он и поплывёт", it says that if something was given a good name, all's gonna be good for it. Like if a girl was named Victoria (or boy - Viktor, like in my case), she's gonna have good leadership qualities and will be "victorious" in her life. And you know what? We fucking own the night. We own every single night that we're performing. Fucking love this song and the fact that DGD are still performing it.
