Tillian is honestly much more impressive (coming from a metal vocalist) his range and blending between varying levels of distortion while still being on pitch is CRAZY. Jon is just doing a fry scream, it’s a pretty voicey one and it’s sick but it’s just one style you have to worry about, not a ton of variation.
@ptgptg144 ай бұрын
@@aldendunne Tillian doesn't really do much distortion. He will have some rasp in his voice, but he doesn't get close to screaming from what I've heard. I was just comparing studio to live. On the comparison with Justin Bieber, it makes sense, Tilan has a "pop" solo career besides the band, you can check if you want. There is also an acoustic version of "Death Of A Strawberry" where you can hear it hit some really high notes. He's the third clean vocalist of the band (my favorite btw) although I really enjoy the time of Jonny craig and Kurt Travis . There is a very cool version of "Uneasy Hearts Weigh the Most" where all 3 sing together, in commemoration of the 10 years of the band.

The name "Dance Gavin Dance" was derived by then lead singer Jonny Craig who's the former lead vocalist of the band since 2005 (replaced by Tilian). He named the band I honour of a band mate/friend named Gavin who unfortunately passed away. RIP Gavin 🙏

He is hitting the high notes by flipping into them, not by being percussive on the consonants

If you're looking for more from these guys I might suggest Count Bassy or Midnight Crusade. They're a fantastic group.

I love how the everyday person wouldn't typically like DGD, but every time I see one of these reaction vids from someone who knows their musical stuff, they are always taken away. xD

The thing that I was really impressed - that Tilian using the "harsh" style of singing and still have a great voice. P.S. Hello from Russia!

I guess Tilian wasnt happy with these live recrodings. His voice got tired during this tour, and it took a toll on his voice.
