Right! I have a problem with my shoulder and I can pull my arm in and out of its socket but sometimes it pops out when I’m dancing and when it goes back into the socket it gets dislocated :(

Yea volleyball gets dangerous, I’ve collided with ppl countless times got hit in the head countless times and had to continue perfectly fine. Brooke is an excellent athlete and it comes with the territory of partaking in the sport.

Although a long time ago, I have had a shoulder out of place (due to a gymnastics injury). It is agonising. I agree with Abby. I do not think it was out of place. I do think she had hurt badly her shoulder. However, I do not think she would of been able to do certain parts of the routine if it really was out of place. Well done! 💕

I saw it drop while she was dancing. Your shoulder can partially dislocate/slip out of place. Mine does that because I have an unstable shoulder. It hurts when it happens and I have to pop it back in. Used to happen when I danced too. I’d just keep going.

Nah, I think. it was definitely out of place. Professional acrobats like Brooke (and me, which is how I know all this) are most often double-jointed and extremely flexible, which is why it's easier for us to do all these acrobatic manoeuvres, but it also makes it a lot more likely for a joint to just... slip out place. When you're an acrobat and you've been flexing that joint for so long, extending it to it's limits, you don't feel the pain as bad as most other people would. Look it up, it's quite common. I've just started popping mine back in since I was 11. I don't doubt for a second that Brooke's shoulder was actually dislocated. It's not as bad as you're making it out to be. She was in a lot of pain but was able to complete her routine and popped it back in herself. The fact that she knew it was popped out and Kelly didn't doubt it means this had likely happened before.

It's really common for acrobats to be double-jointed, which means a lot of our joints can slip out of place quite easily and with not as much pain as the usual person would get. I'm the same, and Brooke likely is too. It's what makes great acrobats, but it also makes for a lot of injuries. I just kept dancing too. I was popping it back in myself at age 11. I don't doubt Brooke for a second. She knows her body and medical history better than we do. If she thinks it was out, it was probably out.

Even a sublaxed shoulder is meant to hurt a lot (my friend accidentally sublaxed his + he had pain for months), but tbh with the kind of moves she was doing I wouldn't be surprised if it dislocated, and if she had frequent dislocations (which is possible when pushing your body like she is) then she wouldn't react as much as someone who had their first dislocation

i think season one was the best season of dance moms. because in this season, you could tell that the girls really loved abby. abby actually had her moments where she comforted them, and gave them encouraging words. and it wasn’t just with one of them, it was with all of the girls. like the scene where she took chloe to the lake to talk to her about her aspirations and how she knew chloe could be the best. i really think the fame got to abby and it took away from her authenticity as a dance teacher who had a good balance at comforting her kids when they needed her. as the seasons progressed she just became so mean. like, for example, paige had been with abby since she was a baby. yet she didn’t become scared of abby until seasons 2-3 of the show. this show ruined abby’s relationships with the girls who’d she’d been training since they were babies. and it sucks.

Just recently I was about to go on and I was rehearsing my dance backstage. I went onto releve arabesque and my knee popped out. I wanted to scream but obviously there was an audience. Luckily, this was a dress rehearsal so it wasn’t a huge deal. In between numbers I limped offstage to my mom, my eyes tearing up. Soon my dance teacher followed with an ice pack. Right before I went on I popped it back into place. It still hurt, but I did the whole dance.
