I think jojo needs to acknowledge that her mom and her joined KNOWING what the experience would be like. I sort of agree with her personally in that a teacher being blunt with me doesn't really bother me as much as it seems to bother other people. But her and her mom knew that is what they were signing up for. The other girls signed up for a dance documentary and then were trapped having to perform and work with a teacher that was yelling insults at them. Save for Melissa, I don't think the other moms would've joined the series if they knew what it would be like before hand. It's okay for Jojo to not be bothered by that style of teaching but not okay to not realize the different circumstances.

It's not too weird if you look at the bigger picture. She came on the show later on so she knew what she was getting into, she left the show after 2 seasons to pursue another opportunity thus not having the full years long Abby experience like the OG girls did, because she dealt with Abby in her formative years she views people like Abby as normal thus normalizing the toxic people she associates with. Her mom definitely helped normalize it by allowing her to be around these types of people too. Think about it. Every single person or friend she defends has some horrible controversy or are groomers or just outright act toxic. It's all normal for her and she can't see it differently. She won't ever see it differently until she finally has the epiphany and works to unpack her whole childhood experience in therapy. Plus, we can see she's emotionally stunted to some degree. Her idea of being "bad" or adult is to keep telling everyone how adult she is now while wearing a bunch of bedazzled outfits like she's still her 12 year old self then playfully hunching another dancer in a music video. Her response to Tana Mongeau when her feelings were hurt was to send a passive aggressive text rather than telling Tana how she felt directly. Then talked about her behind her back on a podcast letting her other friend call Tana a bitch. If you look at all of her behavior over time and place it all together it makes a lot of sense that she would defend Abby.

the problem i have is that this was produced by the same people who caused some of the trauma these girls have. of course they probably couldn't speak freely and i wouldn't be surprised if it came out that abby orchestrated the whole reunion. and kalani and jojo being mad that they weren't invited to a party for a girl they either never met or barely know is so audacious and just shows how out of touch both of them are. what i did like was hearing how chloe has started healing from this and that she is so strong and confident now, she was always the reason i watched dance moms growing up. i like that the o.g. girls are still really close even after everything and seem to have a stronger bond than when the show first started. of course kalani and jojo aren't going to be included because they knew what they were getting into, they worked with abby on audc before joining the main show.

There was just this huge Abby apologist vibe that was icky. Starting from the very beginning implying Melissa is just So manipulative and Maddie and Kenzie are always saying they aren't grateful for what DM has given them in their current lives (which isn't true) and was being purposefully manipulative when it came to Paige's birthday party the night before (like Jojo and Kalani didn't really overlap with Paige) They brought up so many traumas and then asked if they'll ever talk to Abby again. Literally having Jojo there. (She did not come away from this looking good)

Jojo and Kalani are both being such pick-mes. Ofc we all expected it from Jojo, but Kalani must just be bitter that she’s just a basic ass dance teacher now, while Maddie’s in movies and Kenzie is a full blown musician. They didn’t even know Paige, the Ziegler’s threw Paige a surprise party, why would they be invited? Them saying that the Ziegler’s were just trying to make headlines is sooo hypocritical.

They're just as successful (and aren't becoming a mini Abby) and she's just proving Abby's point that she WAS jealous of the Ziegler kids because the grudge she has against Melissa is vindictive at this point. @@chelseahorizons 100% agree. She’s fsfs still bitter about the opportunities Melissa’s girls were given over Chloe. I think Chloe was treated so unfairly by Abby, she did not ever deserve the cruelty. But Christi acting as if she wouldn’t have done the same damn thing as Melissa if Chloe was the star dancer instead of Maddie is despicable.

It’s really sad to see how Jojo is STILL trying to seek validation from Abby. Abby never liked her and never wanted her to be on the show. Abby only started “liking” her when she started popping off on KZbin and she wanted to make sure she was credited for Jojo’s success even though she had no parts in it. JoJo is an obnoxious mess that did not experience the trauma that some did. Abby was a monster to several of the girls, Nia and Chloe in particular were treated horribly. Over the seven years that this show was taping we saw Abby literally beat the joy of dancing out of Brooke, Paige, Chloe, Nia, Maddie and Mackenzie. JoJo was only there for two seasons and bounced before Abby could screw her up!

I think the producers were definitely manipulative of the footage they had and trying to make it seem like the girls were trying to frame the Zeiglers. That's exactly why they didn't want to come. Because of stuff like this. Also, I don't know why Jojo's pressed that she wasn't invited to PAIGE's birthday party at Melissa's house when Brooke + Paige was on the show from 1-4 while Jojo was there from 5-(?)? Like girl what? You hardly know them, why are you expecting to be invited to her birthday celebration... Kalani on the other hand is somewhat a wild card IN THE NICEST WAY POSSIBLE. Like I said B/P last season was 4 which just so happened to be Kalani's first. But at the end of the day, it's Melissa's house and the girls are grown adults. They can make plans on their own time to hang out. It's really not that big of a deal if they aren't invited to a birthday party.
