This is a great video - they look like they're having so much fun and David Lee Roth really plays to the camera - I can remember this song when it was first released, loved it then and love it now, I've never seen this version before though! Love your reaction too Sue!

I wouldn’t call this song a departure. The song is on their second album, so it’s not like they had put out a lot of music for anyone to decide what exactly a “departure” was yet. There’s pop stuff on the first album. “Jamie’s Cryin’” certainly falls under that.

Blech! VH was being pressured by the record company, so they created "Diver Down". The album was almost 100% cover tunes and guitar instrumentals. Only one song, "Secrets", was an original. VH's next album was "1984", and it was a masterpiece! The contrast between the two albums is testament to what happens when you allow the creative juices to come naturally in musical artists.

Nice Choice ! Lets me first declare I am team Lee Roth and never warmed to VH mrk 2 with Hagar This is a great pop rock song and producers were right to push it . I remember seeing a great interview with EVH and he discussed emigrating to America from war torn Holland They travelled by ship and brought 1 possession A Piano. Their dad was a professional musician and Eddie and Alex in early teens were budding concert pianist winning every competition they entered

I actually don't think I know this one, which is strange, seeing as it was apparently a hit song for a famous band that gets played a lot on the radio .. Not really a big VH fan, but I like a few of their songs, and this one is not bad .. I think it's probably one of those songs that needs to be seen with some good live footage like this for me to appreciate and enjoy it.

Hi Wayne, i always find it interesting when people say "how do you not know this, it was a big hit" but honestly if we weren't listening to a certain kind of music at the time or maybe just not listening to a lot of pop radio at the time, you could miss it. I am amazed how many songs that I don't know and I find out they were big hits. It happens 🥰💜
