I was born as a refugee in a third world country, but my dad was a kid when another country took over my country and he ended up as a refugee. I saw my dad listening to this song again and again and I wonder what he's thinking about. His oldest sister died and his dad died when he was a kid and his mother followed, then his grandma did too. I been fortunate enough to have all my close relatives still alive, but I know he grew up differently and so did my mom who never knew her dad cuz he fought against crazy odds and was never heard of again. I just wonder what my dad thinks though. I normally never hear him listen to ANY songs not of our culture nor religion unless we're in the car, but he was listening to this song all the time on his cellphone and until my mom (who doesn't understand English) complained about him thinking it was some chick singing. I know he misses his dad, so does he still think about his dad even though he passed when my dad was 10 years old? I wonder, man. I'm just glad I've been blessed with seeing my dad pass 60 years of age. Thank you God. Please, God, make sure my father lives till I get married, get my life straight, or at the very least, have a child. I don't want no kid if my pops don't get to bless him.

Back when I was a child Before life removed all the innocence My father would lift me high And dance with my mother and me and then Spin me around till I fell asleep Then up the stairs he would carry me And I knew for sure I was loved If I could get another chance Another walk, another dance with him I'd play a song that would never ever end How I'd love, love, love to dance with my father again, ooh When I and my mother would disagree To get my way I would run from her to him He'd make me laugh just to comfort me, yeah, yeah Then finally make me do just what my momma said Later that night when I was asleep He left a dollar under my sheet Never dreamed that he would be gone from me If I could steal one final glance, one final step One final dance with him I'd play a song that would never ever end 'Cause I'd love, love, love to dance with my father again Sometimes I'd listen outside her door And I'd hear how my mother cried for him I pray for her even more than me I pray for her even more than me I know I'm praying for much too much But could you send back the only man she loved? I know you don't do it usually But dear Lord she's dying to dance with my father again Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream

@@Noah.L He was probably a colicky baby and all that practice screaming high pitched, shrill screaming in his mama’s ears, and the exercise his lungs got sucking in his next breath and learning how to control his exhalation just right for the longest and most emotional impact, and he probably practiced these vocal and diaphragmatic activities even at night, 24/7, for many months. A lot of parents just think babies who are screaming and cry constantly are gassy or that somethings wrong with them, but I’m with you. He knew the advantages the singer who practices has over others who just seem to have a natural ability. I’m certain all colicky babies are actually just very principled, dedicated in their pursuit of becoming great virtuosos, operatic tenors, and leave nothing to chance or God given talent. This is a fact, from my Book of Facts I wrote. :-)

Becoming a father grounded me to the earth and gave me the greatest opportunity to live with purpose. I love my amazing children. 22,18,17,13,7,5. Last year I narrowly escaped a close call with death. An important reminder to live every day with purpose. My purpose is the legacy I leave my children. Those moments when our world is small and we are connected with each other.

I want this message to reach some Haiyan survivors. My tagalog isn't good but Ikaw Ang Buhay Ko . Salamat. Lagi , salamat. visited some karaokes at the side of highways and bars in the Philippines. And the people who sang in Barangays at Fiesta. They welcome strangers and want to hear you sing even if you aren't talented. They give you the courage to let you cry and sing from the heart. And they'll cheer you on and then the next person sings. Everyone sings and everyone watches Pacquiao. Justin Bieber played a concert in Tacloban for the victims and it gave people strength. Music like this has power . Wonderful performance and we know that the Philippines is home to many rare talents that deserve to be heard. I love that country and it has a special meaning to me. Rest in peace to the victims of Haiyan

A note: this video was uploaded about 8 months before that 500 mile wide storm hit and claimed so many lives. It is one of the best places to visit. It is beautiful. Quieter than Manila, and the San Juanico Bridge is amazing. Leyte and Samar cross over one of the most beautiful bodies of water in the world. But we knew on that day that many people would have loved to see their family members to a song that never, ever ends. They still lay candles to victims every year. Life goes on but you can still see signs of how that storm was. It was really something different.
