Dance Academy is mainly about the fifteen-year-old Tara Webster - a girl who grew up on a farm in outback Australia. Since she was a little girl she has dreamt of being a dancer and in the series she finally makes it into the National Academy of Dance. It’s known as the best school in the country and she is sure her life is about to be spectacular.
Throughout the series Tara and her friends face the universal challenges of being a teenager and they battle through the minefield of elite dance training. Relationships grow and change as they live side by side in the Boarding House. They each take a different path, but they start to find out who they are and they all dare to chase their dreams.

In my opinion, the red shoes solo is an emotional journey for Tara. She had to experience lots of things until the "emotive" last dance (with Sammy😭)

Saskia knew Tara danced the red shoes just as good as her so she was harsh on her. but “ helping” her which lead to breaking Tara’s back was horrible. I wonder why she didn’t get any punishments at all. And then Tara just started working with saskia again despite what she did to her which kinda of made me annoyed.

I guess Tara's weakness is how forgiving she is. Most of her friends did bad things to her but she forgave them quite quickly and easily

How often do see a girl ballet dancing in red balled shoes? That looks almost unique and so beautiful with other some of the other ballet scenes. Is how red ballet shoes start off as, original colored that draw red from a red marker?

The Pointe shoes come in pink and even other flesh colors now! If you want another color, there are some techniques to make the shoes other colors - such as dyeing the fabric, using makeup to pancake the shoes, or coloring it with permanent marker

Some companies like Gaynor Minden, Bloch and Sansha also make red shoes for order. But I agree there is definitely something special about red pointe shoes, they command attention that you don't get with your standard pink ones :)

in case you haven’t found it, there’s a movie from 1948, The Red Shoes by emeric pressburger and michael powell as directors. it tells the story of victoria (that’s where tara’s solo came from).
