Fact #2 -- The guy who wrote this song is the guy that sings on this video with the guitar. France Joli has her place in music history….. iconic! ❤️
@carlossuarez20155 ай бұрын

AHH, yes, it feels like yesterday once more, when in 1979 during ominous weather conditions, no less, Ms. France Joli arrived at Fire Island Pines, New York on a Friday amongs other big name talents, and some of whom weren't able to make the inclement weather. But, there she was, performing at midnight, and I taking it all in stride. Now, mind you, no one carried Polaroid cameras back then, which is my biggest regret since I did not capture and preserve the moment for posterity. What a force of vibrancy was Ms. Joli: Youth, talent, great beauty, and the beginnig of her great career that was ushered in with the disco era that she so exquisitely embraced with her gorgeous vocal range and extension, and offering her renditions of some of the most beautiful lyrics and composition that the world has never heard before. The world, as it were, worships the original, and Ms. Joli came upon Fire Island for only one session - but, her memories have lasted a lifetime (she also returned to Fire Island many years later, and the crowd went wild for her return). Bon Chance, Mademoiselle Joli! (BISOUS, BISOUS)! X-O-X-O

She was already a veteran despite her age, she already sang at school parties she became very fast professional. With 16 years it is very difficult to have that talent!!

I have never seen this video before, either. But, she is eye-poppin', jaw-droppin', drool-inducing, drop-dead gorgeous!

I'm 57 & so what if it was one hit wonder. She still sings it. I just watched latest one with same song. Sge 60 now. I danced to this way into my 20's at disco dances. I heard it played many times later in my life at clubs.

The year 79 I was 6 years old, at that time I heard this masterpiece for the first time, a few years passed and disco music was no longer heard, because several new genres were appearing that tried to overlap it. BUT ALTHOUGH DISCO MUSIC WAS NO LONGER PLAYING ON THE RADIOS, I COULD NEVER FORGET OR GET THIS MASTERPIECE OUT OF MY HEAD, AND, SINCE I WAS SIX YEARS OLD, THIS SONG IS ON THE SOUNDTRACK OF MY LIFE. THANKS TO KZbin I WAS ABLE TO FIND HER AGAIN AND WITH HER RELIVE THE MEMORIES OF MY DISTANT CHILDHOOD. I THANK THE CHANNEL DISCOTECA PARAÍSO FOR PUBLISHING THIS IMMORTAL AND ETERNAL VIDEO, AND I THANK FRANCE JOLIE EVEN MORE FOR HER IMMENSELY ENJOYABLE ART OF SINGING AND DANCING, TO THE GREAT TONY GREEN FOR WRITING THIS SONG AND PRODUCING IT AND TO GENE LEONE FOR MIXING IT. Many greetings to all from me, from Lima, Peru.
