Taemin is a soloist artist and has been in kpop industry for 13 years now. He has many works under him and many idols view him as the dancer of dancers. Ppl have dubbed him the south korean Michael Jackson. His dance styles are very unique and tailored to himself specifically. He creates his own choreo. He is also in two kpop groups, Shinee which was his start of his career that debuted in 2008, then debuted in SuperM which is a kpop group whose members are from different other groups combined into one team. Please look into his stuff especially the dance practises and live stages, they are insane. Taemin is a beast. Most of his stuff is pretty dark. You will like these by him: Move, Drip Drop, Want, and Idea. Move is considered one of the most deceptively difficult choreos in the industry. Drip Drop isn't very dark, but the music video is pure choreography and he has a freestyle/solo in there. Want is sorta sexy dark and I swear he's a vampire warlock or something haha. Idea is just my favorite song by him right now. He dances in all of these. So many choreo.

There is actually a follow up to Criminal called IDEA. Criminal was Act 1, IDEA is Act 2, and it's so good! If you react to IDEA I highly suggest the mv AND the dance practice. My interpretation of the song was that it was about his relationship with the media, that its self destrucitive and can make one into a 'criminal' but he still wants . Taemin has been in the public eye for a long time, he debut in a group called shinee in 2008 and he was still a teenager. For the past 2 years, the rest of shinee had to do enlistment, so he was doing a lot of solo work as well as joined supergroup superM. Also if you want more demons/angels theme, teamin's song *idea* has it, for some great dance, i love taemin's song *move* personally One of the best/most popular live perfoemance shinee has is a song called *excuse me miss* Hoped that helped and didnt confuse you!

Taemin is, literally, a legend in the Kpop world and for good reason -- he's ART and everyone of his MVs demonstrates this. I really recommend you react to the sister song of this one - "IDEA". It's a continuation of the storyline and even darker. Let me introduce you to Lee Taemin. He's the youngest (maknae) member of SHINee, a 2nd gen. Kpop group that debuted in 2008. Taemin was just 14 (intl. age) when he debuted with them as their main dancer. He's never had formal dance training. Instead, he taught himself how to dance beginning at the age of 10 (Michael Jackson and his song "Smooth Criminal" were his inspiration), attended an open audition for SM Entertainment at 12, and got assigned as the main dancer of SHINee, also of legendary status in Kpop (just had a comeback w/"Don't Call Me" & "Atlantis" after a 3-year hiatus while the other members were in the military). You can still view Taemin's audition video here on YT. When Taemin debuted he couldn't sing due to immature vocal cords, however, that didn't stop him. With help from his SHINee hyungs, Onew & Jonghyun, two of the best vocalists in Kpop, and an extreme drive to succeed, he learned how to sing to the point that, in 2014 at the age of 21, he became the first-ever SM soloist from an active boy group - even before his SHINee hyungs. We could say he is a natural talent and born for the stage. Still today, you can sometimes hear whispers of Jonghyun's voice in Taemin's vocals. Taemin is THE dancer of S. Korea. Even professional S. Korean dancers have stated that his charisma, combined with his technical abilities, fluidity, and elegance all combine to produce unmatched skills. He's like liquid silver. A popping/locking master, Taemin can literally isolate each and every muscle in his body and pop/lock them independently. Taemin's precision in dancing often makes the dance look like it's easy, but when others try to cover the dance......yeah....while they put in a great effort, it's definitely not the same. No one can do Taemin. "Criminal" is typical of Taemin's MVs. He's unique and extremely innovative and creative. With every MV/Song/Performance/Concert, Taemin is very involved and his fingerprints are everywhere. However, more so in this comeback than ever before. He personally chose the director for this MV (same one who did "Press Your Number" for him), and he worked very closely with them to get his vision across. In fact, the key change at the last chorus was Taemin's decision and Taemin altered lyrics & instrumentals for the entire album. He also teamed up again with Sugawara Koharu & Kasper to help him with choreography. They are all friends and know Taemin's taste and give him the freedom to alter the choreo as he wishes. Koharu has also worked with him on his songs, "Want", "Move", "Sayonara Hitori" and "Flame of Love". She calls Taemin the "dancer killer". There are three very important things to remember when reacting to his MVs: 1) Taemin usually has dual meanings for his lyrics: A) take them as you read them and be happy; or B) delve more deeply to reveal the true meaning. 2) Taemin is a Christian (devout Catholic) so there is also usually a lot of religious imagery, symbolism, metaphors, and allusions/allegories within his lyrics and MVs. You will often see him crossing himself within his choreo. 3) Taemin is DEEP and very intellectual. Much of what we know about the lyrics come from listening to him explain it on interviews and IG LIVEs. The rest is due to our (fans) research. "Criminal" is the title track for Act 1 of his latest album, "Never Gonna Dance Again" (NGDA). The lyrics are deceptive because it's not about what most think - a bad relationship. The concept for this song is Stockholm Syndrome. However, Taemin is both the criminal and the victim in his own mind: two different egos fighting for supremacy in search of the perfect "IDEA" (sister song) of Taemin. It's a love/hate relationship where the criminal ego keeps the new ego captive, but the new ego isn't sure it want's to break free. It's comfortable and safe where he is. Right now he's leashed by his old ego ("I'm on a leash called you" - meaning himself) The process of changing your whole persona, the image that has been with you since the beginning -- his debut at 14 YO -- into a whole new identity is painful but necessary to achieve what he wants, which is to become an even better performer and artist. His "IDEA" of the perfect Taemin. Taemin says, "Destroy me more", meaning bring it on. Only by destroying the old can he put on the new. I believe this MV/song is linked to his song, "Famous", also on Act I. The short explanation being "....being "Famous" may be "fabulous" but it's "dangerous" and creates a lot of drama, and Taemin wants "no drama". The requirements of fame (perfection always; flawless in appearance; always on top) are expensive (in personal terms) and can create the danger of an over-inflating the Ego. Act 2 of this NGDA album builds upon Act 1 with the title track, "IDEA". This is the rebirth/resurrection of Taemin with his emergent, new Ego. The concept for this song/album is....wait for it....Plato's philosophical Theory of Forms, hence the Greek pronunciation of the word "Idea" and "Messiah". Remember, I told you Taemin was deep! What makes Taemin, TAEMIN? How can he achieve his perfect "IDEA" of Taemin? The present ego thinks he's already perfect; no need for a new ego. The newly-emerging ego thinks maybe perfection on his own can't be achieved without the help of a greater power outside himself (part of Plato's Forms Theory). This realization creates even more conflict. As a devout Catholic, this theory fits in perfectly with his worldview. So with "IDEA" you have the climactic battle between the two competing egos inside Taemin's head. In the end, Taemin's new ego breaks out of that prison (hell)in his mind to take over. The old "IDEA" of Taemin is killed and shaken off, and a new, enlightened "IDEA" of Taemin (Heaven) has begun. This is perfectly illustrated through the lyrics and the imagery of the MV. It's also dark and more intense. Another extreme example of this type of performance duality is his MV for "Want". That one, on the surface, seems to be all about tempting his fans or a woman. However, it's actually a retelling of Genesis 3 with a hint of the salvation message at the very end. Again, it's quite deep for those who know what to look for and want to take the time to find it. At just 27 and now in his 14th year on the stage, Taemin is greatly respected and admired throughout the industry. The idol of idols. During his 13 previous years in the business, he's debuted four different times in three different generations of Kpop. The former CEO of SM, Lee Soo Man, calls Taemin the company's "Ace" because just about everything he touches turns to gold. This is probably why, in 2019, Taemin was the first idol Soo Man approached about their new concept of a super group composed of 7 of the best SM artists: Super M. And now, Taemin is not only a member of SHINee and a soloist but a member of SuperM as well. Did I forget to mention that he's a workaholic? Speaking of which, he's dropping yet another new album, "Advice", on 5/18 before heading off to serve his mandatory military duty for 18 months. So please look forward to that MV. Criminal is about Stockholm Syndrome, about loving someone despite them not being a nice person, they’ve broken someone else’s heart and you know they’ll do it again but you can’t help yourself. Hence the line “destroy me more”. Take a look at the dance practice of course. And there’s a video on SHINee’s channel, very funny in places, where Taemin teaches Mark and Jeno from NCT the chorus for Criminal. Well worth watching. Also, please watch some more of Taemin, such as Idea, Move, Want, Danger, Black Rose, Drip Drop, Sayonara Hitori. Sayonara Hitori is a beautiful Japanese song, I think (no, I’m pretty sure!) it’s my favourite of his so far. And he’s about to drop a new mini-album, Advice, Tuesday 18th at 6pm KST. I'm gunna start with, don't ever apologize for how you talk. Taemin is literally the best dancer I have ever seen, he is The God Tier, the Idol of Idols. Taemin is a member first and foremost of SHINee. Most of the newer Gen groups all hella look up to SHINee and most dancers (peers and juniors alike) look up to him. He’s widely considered one of the absolutely most talented dancers in kpop. He also has released many solo albums and music videos. He became a part of SuperM while the rest of the older members in SHINee did their military service as well. The reason you probably like his dancing so much is because he’s very openly cited Michael Jackson as one of his main inspirations in dancing. I do think you’d absolutely enjoy every single one of his music videos as they are all largely dance focused, but I’d say a good follow up since you just watched Criminal would be IDEA, which was the next MV he released. Then go back and watch others (Drip Drop, Want, Want, etc). TAEMIN is king when it comes to dancing no cap

Taemin is love, life and light. From being the maknae (mock-nay or the youngest group member) of Shinee (the Princes of Kpop) since he was 14 to growing into one of the biggest names in Korean music with a highly successful solo career and two successful groups (Shinee and SuperM who are the “Avengers of Kpop”, a supergroup comprised of the biggest talents SM Entertainment has pulled into one group). Taemin is someone that all younger idols look at as an influence and role model as he is not only successful but hugely talented in dance, vocals, performance skills, he is a very kind person and is someone even idols older than him admire. He is referred to as Korea’s Michael Jackson for those reasons and several more, including he looks up to MJ and has been influenced by him in his dance style. I love seeing your genuine friendships. So cuuute. Also this is one of my fave songs of Taemin's and I've def watched the MV more times than I can remember! Was def cracking up at your guesses, but it was so fun to watch you guess! Taemin always seems to use men and women as his backup dancers, and I love how he really incorporates them as part of the feel and purpose of the choreo and not just background. There were men in the initial red and black sequence too!

I’m sure everyone has their views so here’s mine; I am always on the end of my seat speechless every time he releases new content he never fails to impress and who dares to seduce & hurt our boy? Because i’m coming for you 😡😅 and OMG there was so many representations that remind me so much of his older music videos “Danger”(debut), “Thirsty”, Press Your Number”, “WANT”, “Famous”, “DOOR”, etc. *In my opinion, he’s talking about being controlled by someone who is playing and toying him making him out to be a CRIMINAL surrounded by all the corruption/negativity; well something like that which is suffocating him (hence the bag scene and the cards with skeleton hand) but says he cant get enough of it which is why he says “Destroy Me More”. The gloves with the rings he explained during his recent Vlive showcase that it was his stylist idea and the dancers wearing red represent blood, regarding the statue that’s still a question along with the faces trying to reach through the cloth.* TAEMIN has done many variety of storyline concepts and mixture of genres of the years along with many artists but it always seems to come down to the dark and fierce concept/theme that he loves using. Everything to this point 100% proves that TAEMIN is a global vocal and dance LEGEND because FACTS, there maybe many titled ‘Kings of Kpop’ but TAEMIN is the ARTIST OF ALL ARTISTS that debuted after him. With that said, he explains each track during his comeback VLive Showcase. I lost count how many times i’ve watched this, I see it as his korean version of MJ’s “Smooth Criminal” removing the word ‘smooth’ and going with just “Criminal” because Taemin is a creative music genius *THIS ISN’T KPOP LOL IT IS T-POP (Taemin Pop)* #TAEMIN_Criminal #SHINe *As you explore more of **#TAEMIN** you will find allot of MJ influence within his dancing style and some fashion. He’s a big fan of MJ as an artist / dancer; TAEMIN has been dancing since he was around 10 yrs old who has been in the industry over a decade being a role model to thousands of fans & kpop idols alike. One more comment, lol. Taemin loves religious themes/iconography. He's Lucifer in Want (Complete with Eve, snakes, the Gates of Hell... best video ever!) and Idea has heaven and hell themes, and you'll see religious overtones in several of his videos. Oh, and the patches are his "thing" lol. His group SHINee like to wear them too at times. Definite fashionistas.
