The dingo killing voice is incredible - the concept of the show is to have the group sing snippets of their songs live. Makes members easy to recognize, shows off different skills. Super fun. Dare you not love them in the end 😉

Woozi does participate in arrangements from behind the scenes clips I've seen, but more in an executive decision way (like he'll say "a woodwind would sound good there", "make the vocals louder here" etc...). There are also a few songs that he did arrange himself. However, arranging a song can be very time-consuming and since he's already writing and composing all of Seventeen's songs, on top of his schedules as an idol (which everyone knows are very packed) he usually doesn't have the time. Leaving the arranging to Bumzu (full-time producer, Woozi's friend and mentor in music and Seventeen's other main producer with Woozi) is more time-efficient when you have to release 2 or 3 albums/year.

I recommend the ROLLING STONE In My Room video. It has 3 songs (one for each sub unity) and is stripped down and live with them just sitting in a room. It really allows you to see each style and each member's singing talent. It is an exceptional watch. The performance unit song's arrangement is stunning.

Just wanted to correct something. The idea that Seventeen was named Seventeen because there were supposed to be 17 members isn't quite right. During their years before and during training, Pledis (their company) was planning a 17 member group that would be broken up into subunits that would perform in Korea, China, and Japan but the idea never quite got there. Then they planned on having a group whose median age would be 17. They had gotten to the point where they had 17 trainees at various times but four left. During the years predut the had a little streaming show called 17TV where you could see them practice and play around and they formed a fanbase that knew them as Seventeen. When their predut show, Seventeen Project came out, the group of 13 had already been finalized and the show was to determine if they had the ability to earn an hour long debut show. They kept the name Seventeen as they already had a loyal fanbase and they came up with the "13 members, 3 units, 1 team" thing to explain the name in a new way that made sense.

3:17 Sorry, but I think the show she was talking about is a reality show, not a contest or elimination type of show and It was aired after the trainees had left the company and became 13. It's called 'Seventeen Project: Debut Big Plan,' in which Seventeen were asked to complete a set of missions to gain the right to have a one-hour-long live debut broadcast as the goal of the reality show. Before debuting, the company wanted to have 17 members in the group, but many of the trainees dropped out during the training days (pre-debut). As a result, they never debuted with 17 members. However, since the company already decided on the name, they kept it but improvised its meaning to ( 13 members + 3 units +1 team = 17) . Seventeen consists of 13 members distributed into 3 units (Hip-hop, Vocal, Performance), and each unit has its own leader. 1- Hip-Hop(rappers) unit has 4 members. 2- Vocal(singers) unit has 5 members. 3- Performance(Dancers/choreographers) unit has 4 members. Though all 13 members can sing, dance and rap but they prefer the unit system so that each member has an area of expertise! Fandom name: Carat💎 before their debut, they performed their song called 'Shining Diamonds' their fandom name started off from that song. Their fans are the carats that help Seventeen shine. Besides, when Seventeen members are arranged by age order they create the shape of a diamond: 95 95 95 96 96 96 96 97 97 97 98 98 99 Also, All 13 members are heavily involved in songwriting and choreographing, establishing a strong reputation as "Self-Producing K-pop idols". They're also branded as the "Kpop Performance Powerhouse", the "Million Seller", "Kings of Synchronization" and "Variety Kings"👑 SEVENTEEN are known for their excellent vocal and dance skills, particularly their impressive synchronization and detailed choreography!

Woozi essentially composes and produces everything with another producer (Bumzu) who he learns from. Arrangements are done by Bumzu and Prismfiltr (basically a team that works with svt a lot). Woozi often gets involved in arrangements for bsides but most of it usually Bumzu and Prismfiltr. But even so, all the members write, they also get involved in composing too. Also, you probably wouldn't do introductions/guide videos but it helps watching the Super Long Seventeen guide (by caratline17). The first part, intro, explains a lot about their background.

Vocal song: Kidult ... Their leader S.Coups said he wrote it to challenge the vocal team. I do like both "Don't Wanna Cry" and "Home" too. But Kidult is every carats' "I hope to hear this live" song. And yes, you will fall in love with DK. Why Carat: their first predebut doing "Shining Diamond"; they say that their fans are the reason they shine, so they are their "carat" ... Unit of measure. How long it takes to learn their names: About 2 weeks. As a westerner, you may take longer to differentiate Joshua and Joenghan features. But like she said, their personalities are so distinct, they make it easy to know who's who. Thanks Jill ❤❤❤

Pledis Entertainment was seriously struggling back in the day, practically on the edge of going under. But then, enter Seventeen, these guys with their all-in-one talent - writing, producing, and dancing. Woozi drives the musical creation, composing and producing their songs. Hoshi leads in choreography, ensuring dynamic performances. Members like S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon contribute personal and heartfelt lyrics.

thanks for checking seventeen out! i'm also an army and a carat (seventeen's fan, since their brand is a diamond as you saw as a recurring theme in this video). they really specialize in vocals and storytelling (as well as performance) so i think you guys would really identify with them as musicians. most of them (if not all ?) also play at least one instrument, which is also cool! each member is definitely very distinct from one another (looks, personality, vocal tone) so it shouldn't take too long to get to know all of them, if you're interested. they also all have solo projects and unit songs which might be less overwhelming than 13 members all at once. just want to clarify a few things. seventeen's debut lineup has always been these 13 members - they didn't lose any members along the way. they're going on 9 years together now and for the whole 9 years it's always been the 13 of them. i believe their agency's original vision was to set up a group with 17 members but it never quite happened. they explain the meaning of seventeen as 13 members + 3 units + 1 team = 17. they debuted after a broadcast of a reality show in 2015 (not a survival show/contest) where they had to prove that they were worthy of debut. it was a situation where it was all 13 of them or nothing. i think it was a way for the company to promote them/build hype since they weren't doing so well financially back then. all of them write lyrics but woozi, as jill mentioned, is the main composer, writer and producer in the group. he has virtually written and produced every seventeen song that exists along with another producer named bumzu. it's very hard to find a song of theirs where he wasn't the main producer and writer. he does do arrangements as well but not for every song, and since he's the leader of the vocal team in this group, he also does a lot of the musical directing. they also have members who choreograph! i have to say i disagree that this song is just a hype song. i agree that it's not a very heavy/deep song, lyrically, but i don't think they are saying they're the best or whatever. they talk more about never giving up and being positive - this is a recurring message in a lot of their title tracks. their b-sides tend to dive into deeper/more personal topics. either way, i really think it's worth reading their lyrics to gain a better understanding, since those are words written by the members themselves. thanks for sharing this with us and i'd love to see you react to more seventeen! and thank you to jill for introducing you!

CARAT comes from their pre-debut song (which was also their first original song as a group and on their debut mini album) called 'Shining Diamond' - edit: I also reccommend their Killing Voice (and Don't Wanna Cry is on it!) Seventeen's style changes so much every comeback while retaining their signature sound that it's impossible to pick a song that really encompasses EVERYTHING about them. They also experiment so much with their B-sides and unit songs! (Most of my faves are actually B-sides, even though I've LOVED most of their titles as well.)

If you would want a song that really showcase Seventeen vocals, I recommend Kidult its a song that doesn't have a chorography most probably because of how hard it is to sing while dancing live, Aju Nice or Very nice also showcase their vocals most especially the two main vocals, Seungkwan and DK with their highnotes and its a song a lot of vocalist in Kpop actually sing to show that they can reach high notes, I also recommend Same Dream Same Mind Same Night it's a song sang by just the vocal unit of Seventeen and its also really good!

It truly doesn’t take as long as you’d think to memorise names and faces - I was also intimidated in the beginning haha! I second a suggestion for “Killing voice” (a live performance of a medley of their hit songs, similar to BTS Festa Live video). You definitely will love DK, their main vocalist, he’s amazing. Woozi actually appeared on Suga’s interview show, Suchwita, they had a great discussion about song production and composing :) (Hoshi, the main dancer of Seventeen also had an episode.)

Sorry for the long comment hahah but a little insight on the song and album: This Song is from the EP Semicolon, their previous EP Heng:garæ was described by SVT as an album that highlights a "journey of youth" because it told the story of them chasing their dreams while facing several challenges along the way (note those 2 were released during the pandemic, so during the release time on of those challenges were the pandemic) Why am saying this? bc through this Semicolon EP, SVT described it as a way to continue fighting for what they want while also enjoying the moment as to why they called the EP " ; " [Semicolon] to represent a brief pause and moment to take a breath, exchanging laughter with one another even amidst the hardships. In "Home;Run," SVT celebrates the thrill and excitement of achieving success through perseverance and teamwork, uses lots of baseball metaphors and compares life to a game of baseball, the members encourage each other to focus on their goals and trust their instincts to hit a home run. Then it emphasizes the importance of having fun and enjoying the journey, while refering to "home run" as a symbol of success and triumph. The second verse highlights the importance of support and collaboration among the members, as they work together to achieve their dreams and overcome obstacles as the journey towards their dreams has no ending, so like they said previously it's important to take a step back every once in a while, to relax so when the time comes to continue again, they'll be stronger and more refreshed than ever, then the bridge encourages listeners to keep pushing themselves and celebrate small victories along the way. This is a theme they also touched on another song "Left&Right" tittle track of that previous EP Heng:garæ.

Thank you so much for your reaction. I really love your insights. Seventeen is such an amazing group. One thing I love about them is how they experiment through different styles and genre while still maintaining their core. It’s interesting because their songs would have completely different sounds, but you would still very much recognize that it’s theirs. From their debut song Adore U to their latest one, God of Music, all of them are very Seventeen. I know this is such a big jump into their discography, but I would really recommend their 4th full album, “Face the Sun” or its repackaged version Sector17 (with additional songs). Face the Sun is one of the best kpop albums in 2022, even being recognized by MTV as one of the Albums of the Year (2022) alongside Grammy-nominated artists Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, Rosalia, and Wetleg. I would really love to hear your thoughts on the album.

SEVENTEEN is 13 members + 3 units (Hiphop Team, Vocal Team, Performance Team) + (together, they make) 1 group = 17 Woozi is the main producer of SEVENTEEN besides Bumzu. He did composed, write the lyrics, and sometimes did the arrangement too.. plus he did directed the album songs recording. Fyi, he did won the Best Producer in AAA 2021 and even he is the KOMCA full member, the youngest member of KOMCA that promoted at the moment. We are CARATs because if they sit based their age lines, it forms a Diamond shape.. 95 95 95 96 96 96 96 97 97 97 98 98 99 and their debut album called "17 CARAT".

The intention was to debut 17 members with an average age of 17... But they never did have 17 trainees for SEVENTEEN.... the most they got was 16 at one time.... They never had an elimination, but the postponement of their debut led to some trainees leaving, until the remaining 13 members self-produced their way to debuting finally.... ❤❤❤

If you arrange the members in rows by year of birth, it forms a diamond shape [with the older members S Coups, Jeonghan and Joshua at the top, and Dino the youngest, forming the downward point].

Hey there guys hope you see this before the upcoming reaction. Your last live stream with Dimash had by my count people from 49 different countries show up. Here is a list of the countries... Austria, Australia, Algeria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Finland, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Mexico, Malaysia, Maldives, Norway, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Portugal, Poland, Peru, Russia, Romania, South Africa, Singapore, Spain, Slovakia, Serbia, Scotland, Slovenia, Turkey, UK, USA, Uzbekistan, Venezuela. Then there was the one from Jupiter, not sure where to put that one. I may have missed a few. Looks like you two have a wide reach but then you are a lot of fun.

I'm so excited that you're checking seventeen, they're amazing, just like everyone else said the dingo killing voice and the rolling stone performance are both really great places to go to if you want to see more. Also i saw that nobody explained, the diamond thing has to do with their first ever song which is called shinning diamond (also fun fact if you arange the members' names by putting the ones who are the same age in a line and then the next ones under and so on it forms a diamond, idk if i explained that well haha)

Also i know you sort of said that as a joke but if don't wanna react to this really long videos with multiple songs "I don't wanna cry" is actually a pretty good option.

21:40 "Tear is spelled the same as the word 'tear'" -- ok, y'all have GOT to react to BTS's song Outro: Tear where the three rappers make a heart-wrenching play on the word tear. And there's a whole tissues-required backstory about the composition of that song.

If you want to see how deep SVT is lyrically try reacting to Kidult, Hug, Falling Flower, Don’t Wanna Cry, Yawn, Circles, Home, SOS, F*ck My Life, & alot more. Aside from theater kids of kpop, they are also known as self-producing idol group, kings of synchronization.

I love seeing videos that analises the technical aspect of their songs. I also enjoyed that you had someone that knew the group to give bits of information along. I also recommend Dingo Killing voice for a next reaction and God of Music, that its an ode to music itself.
