I love these little guys, they're like a super pissed off version of a turkey lol! I've got to imagine they don't taste very good or maybe there's not very many of them, because this would be the easiest bird ever to hunt!
@leafabre7174
@leafabre7174 3 жыл бұрын
Their numbers have been declining rapidly over the past century due to habitat loss, mainly. But people do like them as hunting trophies because they have such beautiful plumage. There are efforts to restore the forest that they live in and to reduce the amount they can be hunted so their populations can grow again.
@slebbeog
@slebbeog 3 жыл бұрын
On the contrary, not easy to hunt. And depends on age and season, what they'll taste like. Early fall and their diet is mainly berries, and they taste good. Winter when they change to pine needles it takes some more time to get the taste right and the pine resin taste out of it.
