I love how she speaks of "contraction". That's a great way to describe the effect of I-belief; an energetic contraction (as opposed to openness). A simple exercise to feel this, is to write a page about your day, first in I-perspective (I made coffee, I called a friend, I didn't like the movie, etc.) and _feel_ how this way of writing feels in the body. Then write a new page about the same day, now using a selfless perspective instead (coffee was made, friend was called, movie was not liked, etc.) and feel how this feels. Is there a difference?

You cannot avoid it. When you see things, mind-thought, you will briefly get attached to it. But it does not last. It is just like a raindrop falling from the sky - you see it, then it's gone. Another one comes. It's gone. Everything has a beginning and an end. Death is a fact. We can of course play games and tend not to see. But even you will dissolve. What happens afterwards no one knows. All this: "come to the place, where's no death" is just liking saying close you're eyes and be blind.

The "Me" is REAL. At least to ME. Therefore the ME experiences all the events which sometimes lead to suffering and other times lead to happiness. We can and will experience both, happiness and pain. I can avoid the things that lead to pain or suffering, and engage in those things or acts that lead to happiness. YOU, Lisa chooses to believe what you do. If, as you "believe" the ME or I do not exist, and the Universe does not exist, then no one is suffering or feeling the happiness. If love exists why can't pain and suffering coexist? thanks for your response danny. at this moment i find that i experience being my awareness, of watching thoughts come up & words coming out. i also find there are times when i get attached to the thoughts and run with them, although i am aware that this is becoming less and less, as the noticing seems to kick in sooner. i am wondering if this attachment to thoughts will stop all together.

You're existence as a seperate individual IS real Lisa, and so is your 'non-existence' as pure being, space, consciousness. They are BOTH real, Lisa. Stop denying your humaness, and the fact that you have the capacity to be vulnerable and affected by the world around you. Yes, there is a dimension in which that's true, but your realization is half-baked until you bring that recognition of pure subjectivity, or beingness down into your body and the entire cosmos.
