My name is Xanthe Wyse. Diagnosed bipolar 1 disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
My mood goes elevated 'high' doing a lot of trauma processing. Trauma processing isn't always distressing. I have been between hypomania and mania energy this video and recent videos.
Ghostbusters theme music from 1984 was going through my head so danced to it.
Some features of elevated mood for me:
- very high energy
- need to move/fidget
- messy writing in bright felt pens
- can feel euphoric, especially with the music
- movement to music helps me process trauma, even if my mood feels elevated. How I do most of my art too. With whatever music fits my mood.
Some people call the fidgeting & needing to move 'stimming'. Can also be called psychomotor agitation. Could also be grounding and self-soothing. For me, it's mainly discharging the excess energy and the movements are subconsious.
