i mean most of our (I'm Indonesian) traditional foods are wrapped with either: 1. leaves (usually banana leaf, but it can also be other large leaves like lotus or dried leaves like Palm leaves.... depending on where you are and the type of the snack) 2. corn husk (typically for Dodol) 3. non stick paper (this way or packaging also applies for our main courses) the other is presented in carton boxes inlaid with baking paper (i.e Martabak Manis) or again, banana leaves. the major downside of this way of packaging is that it cannot be kept for too long. Dodol is an exception since it is sorta shelf stable for about a week max. but others will spoil in a matter of 24 hours, sometimes less. you will see these types of packaging in local market, but you won't see much of this in airports except for immediate consumption or domestic flights.

The giant Silverqueen tasted better than the normal-sized bar because the chocolate bloomed in the normal bar. In other words, the cocoa butter melted and the recrystalized giving the chocolate that white blotchy, dull look. There’s nothing technically wrong with it but it lost some of its quality.

@giogremory - The US has a higher cost of living, so things cost more, and wages are higher. In countries with a lower cost of living, they can manufacture and sell things for less because wages are lower and the cost of products to make the gods are lower. Giant candy bars are somewhat common to see in US stores around the major candy holidays like Christmas and Valentine’s Day, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that big. 3 pound (1.36kg) Hershey bars aren’t too hard to find, and 5 pound (2.26kg) ones do exist as well at around the same cost as this one. I have no idea how I would ever actually eat that much chocolate though. Trader Joe’s also regularly sells 500g “Pound Plus” bars that are pretty good and around $6 each.
