On "Chopped," one contestant said his favorite pizza toppings were chicken, hot sauce, pineapple, and corn. It sounds like a monstrosity but I tried it and it's so yummy. Also you need to try Mexican street corn. Cheese and corn is the perfect combo!

I live in Japan and I usually just have what they serve at work. But sometimes when kitchen's scheduled to be closed, I'd visit the supermarket and grab these. They're very very cheap, so I was surprised at the price tags here on the video! It's definitely because of mark-up due to it being imported. Their prices here locally are around a dollar each bag.

Blatant microwave nitpick: you'll get slightly better results if you use the power button instead of converting time (e.g for 600 watts in a 800 w oven, set it to 80%). That's due to thermal conductivity of food, microwaves heat different substances at different rates and it takes some time for the temperatures to equalize. I enjoyed the pizza the best!

I never really get a chance to look at the frozen meals section of an import grocer. Anytime I do, I only notice frozen Donburi and dumplings, and they have English packaging anyway. I want to say I saw frozen Takoyaki once, and I've definitely seen frozen Gyudon topping that you have to buy and cook rice separately. Of course, the Japanese importer is the size of a small convenience store and only has a small freezer case, while other Asian markets mostly have Chinese and Korean frozen items.

@@lmaree200886 「トースターでOK」(in the logo in the front) is very basic Japanese, it's *toosuta de OK* where "toosutaa" is just taken from "toaster" in English, "de" means "in" and "OK" is "OK", on the back there are literally bullet points for oven toaster and the oven accordingly and both of those words are just foreign words from English.. they were too lazy to read if they do know japanese, and it's not like I read everything on the packages I buy either so I guess I understand, but to say it's misleading is wrong🙃 and the only kanji you'd really need to know in this is 分 which is minute(s) and have a thicc Japanese food vocabulary to know what you're buying

I've watched a bunch of these, from several different people. They always like everything, everything is always good, which is very hard to believe. The pizza is the first failure I've seen, but it wasn't supposed to be microwaved. I've never seen them eat something and say it tastes weird, or bland, or isn't very good.
@plejade4125
@plejade4125 4 жыл бұрын
Maybe they even have bad tasting meals but won't show it, to not offend anyone or talking bad just because it didn't fits a petdonal taste. And I like that spirit. I watch some channels with this philosophy, also doing restaurant visits or food huntubg all over the world in general. They explain, they don't want to talk bad about buisnisses maybe run over generations and leading negativity to them. So, I don't mistrust channels when they "like everything" because I think, they may just show what's good, and just skip negativity. To leave the viewer in a good mood.

If I ever live in Japan, convenience stores will make a ton of money off of me as I’ll survive on eating meals there. They’re just so incredibly good. I ate nothing but onigiri one time for a month and didn’t get tired of it.

Ding food is always pants. Whatever country its from. Modern technology didn't improve the cooking /eating experience imho.
