I'm no expert, but Ive been watching dwts for years and in my opinion this is what the finale should be all about! This young partnership was SO special this season. You could really see the hard work from Stephen each week and feel the passion and care from Rylee every time she steps into the dancefloor (I LOVE that you can clearly tell how much this means to her just by looking at her). They should be SO PROUD of themselves! Congratulations to both of these champs for making it to the finale❤❤🎉❤❤

Their athleticism is amazing. The 3 gymnasts doing the pommel routine on the blocks, and then Stephen doing the pommel routine on the flat ground, because HE'S THAT GOOD, and his legs are far above the ground. What a perfect dance routine by Rylee!

Stephen is a Olympic medalist. He is third best- in the world at doing those skills. He has been training those skills since childhood. He couldn't have done it alone, but our country brought home a team medal due in part to his performance.

By far the best freestyle of the night. One of the most subtle but beautiful moments is how Riley nods at him like "you've got this" before she leaves for the gymnastics section with just Stephen and his teammates. Their friendship and how they celebrate each other combined with awesome choreography is what makes this dance so special.

It really is a shame when you think about it. Stephen and Rylee had all the potential in the world to deliver performances like this more often throughout the season, but the format of DWTS doesn’t allow it. Between having to change dance styles every week and forcing themes onto the dances, the potential for amazing performances is squashed. I’ll never get over that these two were forced to do a hair metal foxtrot. It’s just dumb. Imagine the beauty of a classic foxtrot from them. So much wasted potential, and this freestyle shows us how much.

I loved all the freestyles tonight, but this one made me cry. The moment Rylee cheered him before leaving was beautiful. He looked nervous and we seemed to forget that he has quite the impairment without his glasses. He killed it and Rylee was amazing too. Every season a dance/ a couple steals the imagination and captures the hearts of viewers, leaving people wanting more and wishing the show would just keep going like Carrie-Anne said. This was Stephen and Rylee in their freestyle. They won, in my book, period, full stop. As a former dancer I should care about technique and refined dance steps etc. but honestly? I don’t care one bit. This freestyle will live in people’s memory more than any dance executed perfectly, technically speaking. I must have watched it 10 times at least so far and I still can’t have enough. It was magical ❤️ Stephen may have struggled with his musicality all season like he said, but damn if he didn’t bring it all together in that freestyle: I adored him in it! And at 19, Rylee just keeps blowing me away. She has an incredible career ahead of her. They were perfect together. I love them both 🫶🫶
