People never consider the Sentry's mental capacity, and they should. As I mentioned before, during Secret Invasion the Skrulls practically Jedi Mind tricked the Sentry, they didn't even develop a real plan to deal with him. While at he top of his game he can beat almost anyone, but to beat Thor he's going to need his sanity, which is not consistant. My $ is on Thor, unless Robert has Prof X as his therapist.

I like Sentry but he shows the biggest problem with comics, he comes out of nowhere and super-mega overpowered. Mega-beings in comic keep gaining powers near yearly and doing greater feats from new writers joining-in, so on and so on till it means nothing really. Its really all about what the editor allows and really not want to maintain balance. They can BS about Hulk, Thor, Sentry, Superman and Wonder Woman but all of its thrown out the window just a few issues later as their bested by lesser beings. Superman can move planet yet Lex bests him sometimes effortlessly. Keep heroes to understandable power levels is just better storytelling, being overpowered to Greek gods level is beyond silly

Thor and Sentry have fought twice in comics and Thor killed the Sentry and the Void at the same time in the comic "Siege of Asgard" Sentry got a few good hits to Thor but Thor was a lot more durable in the fight and was holding back because he didn't want to harm his friend but in the end when the Void popped up, with one struck of Mjmolmir and lightning, Thor killed both Sentry and Void.

Honestly speaking Sentry can kill Thor with his bare hands if he wills it. Thor is powerful no doubt but he still has limits. Sentry on the other hand has no limit to his power. He is almost as powerful as DC's Superman. Sentry literally killed ARES by tearing him in 2 pieces with his bare hands. If He can kill a War God with such ease then why not a Thunder God.

This video is pretty spot on for when it was made. At the time and under the conditions of no Void and just the Sentry persona, its a tough call but so far I'd lean toward Thor. People seem to forget that Thor isn't just an Asgardian. He's half Asgardian (of Royal Blood too putting him well above all the other Asgardians except his father) and half Elder God. The Elder Gods are multiversal entities from the first universe of creation in Marvel before it was split into a multiverse. Thor's very existence is a deliberate act of selective breeding by Odin so that he would have son and heir stronger that himself and not being 100% bound by the fates (being only half Asgardian) and capable of breaking the Ragnarok cycle, which he did (hence Rune King Thor). . Once he realises his full potential, Thor will be by far the most powerful Skyfather (and in truth cannot really be referred to as one at that point for he will be far beyond that level) possessing not only his Asgardian Godly powers (Asgardians get more powerful as they get older even as their bodies slowly age) but the power he derives from his Elder God Blood (far greater than any mere pantheon). On top of that, he'll also inherit the Odinforce from his dad (which has already been show to be the equivalent of a mystical power cosmic in function with even greater potential in power) and we already know that he can and will master the Runes and Rune magic in time (something even Odin himself was unable to do). So its entirely likely that Thor's full potential actually exceeds that of Sentry (even stable minded). . The Void is a different story as he was shown to be completely unstoppable by anyone by any means other than Bob restraining himself so without any established limits its impossible to gauge where Void would sit in comparison to Thor at a higher potential. Sentry however is slightly easier but still very hard to gauge as its nearly impossible to tell exactly where the Sentry's feats stop and Void's begin (keeping in mind that technically they're both applicable to Robert Reynolds though). Especially leading up to siege where it gets really confusing. In the end I'd have to go with a similar idea to this video in that while I do believe Sentry can beat Thor (due to the way he is written, his power set and his existing feats) I would have to say that discounting the Void completely (and thus potentially some of Sentry's best feats) and factoring in Sentry's fragile mental state and all of Thor's very well established feats and history, Sentry needs more time to showcase himself. . I would like to add, I've heard the theory that "Death Seed Sentry" was actually a (mostly) stable minded Sentry as he not only had no Void within him but the introduction of the Death Seed and his resurrection gave him purpose and confidence within himself (indicated by all his "I'm on a sacred mission for the good of humanity" themed dialogue throughout the whole story arc). If that is even half true then we have more than enough evidence that Sentry would whoop Thor with or without the Void. If not, then we're back to the whole Sentry could beat Thor (even under these battle conditions) but needs more time to be fleshed out as a character first to confirm it. . Unfortunately, now we've seen more of Sentry (namely his performance against the Thunder Guard and Skyfather Cul, we can now say with pretty much certainty that Sentry would win.

This would be an interesting matchup. In terms of raw power and durability I’d say they are relative. They both have exceeded universal with their power/resistance. Speed? Sentry. He’s above Thor pretty comfortably, although Thor isn’t slow. Intelligence and skill Thor. He acts dumb but is actually very tactical and has had 100s of years of experience bare minimum. Hax/abilities/gear. Thor definitely has the versatility advantage and the more powerful attacks. Overall I see Thor winning 7/10 Sentry is fast and his sheer speed is honestly what would get him a couple of wins, but consistently Thor is above him in everything else and should win comfortably

I would say that depending on what time your taking Thor from, Thor could take the void down. if we are talking king thor, Thor may have to go into the thor sleep afterword, Thor with no one else drawing from his god force, equipped with Megingjord (which actually allows thor to use the odin force without being king thor). Also do to the fact that Thor is so powerful, he generally limits how much power he uses to his opponent and to whatever fighting style they use. example is with hulk and Juggernaut thor limits himself to simple brawling because that what they use. , baring circumstances were he cant afford to hold anything back. Like in Avengers:EMH were he takes out the entire Kree army. so if he were going up aginst the Sentry, thor would likely have no need to limit himself at all. also thor is likely has the greatest control over his physical strength of any hero, villain or neutral character in any fictional universe. seeing as he is so much stronger than even others of his own kind, he was likely physically stronger then odin at the equivalent of the age of 5 and was likely stronger then the average asgaurdain man who max lift is about 30 tons, at age 3. Odin's max strength level in his prime was 90 tons, thor's upper physical strength is unknown, but is greater then any asgaurdian who was is or will be, as such if he did not have beyond godly control of his strength, he would kill someone of his own speices just by bumping into them. so its likely that ya thor could beat the void. plus thor does have some matter manipulation abilities, he just does not use them. plus he likely retains the knowledge of the runes he gained, so he could likely just use magic to remove the Sentry serum from sentry if he had to.
