Wild foods are the remedies we need for our bodies to thrive! I walk and munch on wild natives here in my home town of Santa Cruz in California all the time. Thanks to my mom who taught her children what natives were edible, I continue to thrive even in my fifties. Now I teach others that I encounter on my path through this awesome life. Thank you Rosalee and Mark!

When my daughter was young and first learned that people worked hard to rid their lawns of dandelions, she asked, "But, why? They're so beautiful." From the mouths of babes!

I love watching the rabbits in my yard in the spring when the dandelions have gone to seed. The rabbits snap off the stem at the base and then you can watch as the stem disappears into the rabbit's mouth, then suddenly, the whole seed head disappears in one gulp:)

Our Sulcata Tortoise absolutely loves dandelions. It is interesting that he will try to only eat part of each plant to preserve his food source. It has been Incredible watching his instinctive behavior regarding his food, weather, and much more. 🥰

I like to make a pesto with dandelion leaves (and other greens like in Marc's recipe) and then freeze that for the winter months.

@@HerbsWithRosalee yes, thank you .. and that recipe is wonderful..i was kinda thinking of how i could preserve the prebiotic benefits keeping the leaves (chopped) for my morning smoothies.. i love fresh chopped dandelion leaves in those.. i wasnt sure if freezing would destroy those benefits

I grow dandelion for salad in one of my raised beds! I should dry some for teas. I usually forget, but it never dies off so-one of these days! Thanks for sharing! ☺️

Very nice show as always thank you. The description was so helpful I have 3 other look a likes growing in the yard. I found a dandelion growing in a pot (yay it's safe no lawnmower), the bees and other insects love it. Going to collect the seeds so I can grow more and have some wonderful tea.

So much enjoyed meeting this great herbalist and introduction to two new websites. Thank you! When you asked Mark how herbs instill hope in him, he said just working in the garden was so beneficial to him this past year. Earlier he discussed how beauty in itself is healing. Both these seem so simple but have such vast importance. The basic act of planting a garden is Hope in itself!

I had no idea that Dandelion contained pre- biotics, thank you for that info.
