Johns Demos are so cool

Very cool, not many analog reverb options out there. Gotta get one just for the novelty.

Not sure this can do Dick Dale though. Didn’t hear any of that. Just got a Surfy Bear Classic with the newest pan, shorter decay time, sounds sick. I think the springs in this cool pedal are likely too short to get that authentic drip, but someone let me know thoughts.

Fully agree! I have the same set-up - for drippy goodness.

I’ve had the biggest g box forever, maybe my longest held pedal next to some other Danelectro stuff from that era, like the big tape echo.

Having owned the original, I have to say it is a novelty pedal, it cuts frequencies off your signal, it's actually very microphonic and unusable even in band rehearsal volume and it's well documented that the springs don't make much of the reverb, instead it's actually a digital slapback delay pedal with a lot of repeats, that's why when you have the Reverb knob on less than 6, you can only hear the first and brightest repeats without any spring ambience. For me it's awesome for studio overdubs, when both knobs are on 11 and I'm playing my Dano Longhorn baritone, but I wouldn't put it near a pedalboard even on "silent stage" situations (kick drums can make the strings rattle in the background).

Sounds absolutely nothing like a Fender amp reverb, but it has a cool vibe of its own.
@ivan_emege13 сағат бұрын
I like it because of the size, I could put into my 62 Princeton and leave it there. But it seems it keeps the little digital echo tale of the first version in its sound, I don’t like that, I sold my previous Spring King just for that. So I will keep my big box Carl Martin Headroom, that in addition can runs with battery
@xdoctorblindx12 сағат бұрын
Nothing digital about it. It just has very short springs. A Strymon Flint will sound more authentic.

My Traynor has reverb tank in , but I must say that groove at the beginning was cool.
@andreasf667122 сағат бұрын
So cool but too expensive to justify the purchase for me.
@dukeviking21 сағат бұрын
Indeed. These Chinese made pedals should be no more than $99.
@kwyatt26121 сағат бұрын
Yeah, the full size one is much cheaper

@@dukevikingyou’re the worst kind of commenter. The guy who thinks he should decide how much things cost. I don’t know what business you are in. But it isnt gonna last long
@misterknightowlandco20 сағат бұрын
@@Ottophilwhy is he the worst commentator? He said the pedal was too expensive for him. So what? He wasn’t telling people they should change the price or that it’s a piece of junk, just that it’s too rich for his blood. So what?
@bltvd20 сағат бұрын
@@Ottophilwe all have amazon and now how cheap this stuff is produced so pointing that out is not a bad thing. I would not pay more than $49 for this device.

Justifying the price by comparing to regular reverb tank replacement cost is dumb, they’re pretty cheap…

I do t want the tankmwhere I kick pedals or it will go off all the time, I want the tank back months amp where I don't stomp on stomp boxes, this can sit on top my amp in effects loop but then I loose footswitch access. For me, I want this without the kick sound included. That is a flaw not a feature for me unless we cover riders on the storm.
