Ye, i remember playing it years ago but i don't remember about the paywall stuff. Neither i know if the game was paid, cause back then the only app store i had was something that came into my phone that i could install almost all paid games for free and buy whatever i wanted on them, of a course for a small weekly fee. But i guess the app was kinda buggy so it would let me play and install games even without paying (Kinda like play pass, but with way less games. Still, the games were very fun.) Where's my mickey was something "different" (maybe it was because of the cloud mechanics?) for me, I liked it way more than where's my water. (i have no idea why) Unfortunately the game vanished and i can't find it anywhere, not even on other app stores.

I think Where's My Water proves that having a Styalistic Artstyle will age MUCH better than having a Realistic Artstyle. For other games, I feel everyone who have played Hello Neighbour can recall how the Neighbour looks from memory. But can anyone remember how either one of the Eivor's look from Assasin's Creed Valhalla, released around the same time? Prime example needs us to go back a bit. 007 GoldenEye for the N64 was the first realistic-looking game I personally played. It had realistic graphics for the time. I personally think Banjo Kazoee, released around the same time with a very styalisted artstyle, holds up a lot more. All you need for Banjo Kazoee to look modern is to update the textured and maybe smooth out the models a bit. For GoldenEye, well we know what you need to do to make it look modern and that is revamp the entire game.

I really loved Infinity Blade. I played it with my little cousin a lot, a couple years back he asked me really hopeful how he could replay the first two games. It's one of those games you just remember every few years and you want to ride through again. I was super sad to tell him that the games were never ported to any other plataforms. Also, the old games were removed from the appstore, and they're not being updated to new devices. One of the my favorite games as a tween, precious nostalgic childhood memories. And I can't fucking experience any of it anymore, no looking back with nostalgia. And there isn't even any spirutak sequel or copycat so I can at least remember how good I was at parying and shit.

Honestly, I love where's my water. I've played it so many times, that I was able to beat the game in around 2 hours (a full game speedrun). That was not including the other game modes. I loved the game so much, that I decided to figure out how to mod it. I was able to extract the assets, and see how levels were made. I've even started to make level editor for it. Where's my perry is a good game, unfortunately disney did the stupid thing of removing it from both the app store and the play store, making it no longer playable. There was even a hidden level in where's my water called "Agent P", which was obviously advertising where's my perry. The only way to play it now, is by downloading it from the internet. Same goes for where's my mickey, although I haven't played that game yet, so I don't know if it's good or not. Where's my water 2, is honestly a bad game. I hate the in-app purchases, plus, you can only play the first world for free. I also don't like the art style. It looks too flat. At least in where's my water, I could see the edges. Now, of course, since I'm a modder, I'd probably be able to hack the game to get all the levels for free, or maybe even try to port them to the first game (lol, idk if it even is possible).

how moddable is Wheres my water? Visually it looks like something either done in a flash-like engine or unity.
@ego-lay_atman-bay2 жыл бұрын
@@NoahGooder it's very easy to edit levels. They're just in xml format, well the objects are. The dirt, liquids and those kind of stuff, are in 8-bit png encoding (8-bit encoding is very important). Modding the android version is as simple as extracting the apk, modifying some files, repacking it, then sign it (the most complicated part), then just install the app. I have not gone into the game code, so I don't know how moddable that part is. The process is actually the same for the other where's my water games, only some of them have a special image format for some sprites, that you need specific programs to edit (or just convert it to png, then replace the filename in some other files). Don't worry, I want to create a program to do all that hard work for you, although I've only done part of the level editor.

@ego-lay_atman-bay2 жыл бұрын
@@NoahGooder of course the one problem with the way modding currently is, it requires sending people the apk of the full game, which is piracy. I do want to make the sharing process better by creating a patcher, so people can just share a patch file, or a file with their levels, then everyone who wants to play it, has to have the apk, and a program to patch the apk. Then again, we are talking about a game that is, I think, a decade old. And also I'm fine with sharing the apk for where's my perry and mickey, all because there's no legal way to get them now. And also, where's my water 2 is a free game.

I have really fond memories with this series of games. My favorite of the series and the one I played the most was actually Where’s My Perry because I was always a big Phineas and Ferb fan (but I also just remember that one being more fun in general for some reason- it was also the only one other than Where’s My Water in which the title actually made sense given the context of the show). I played nearly all of the games in the series at some point, including even entries you didn’t mention like Where’s My Summer and Where’s My Valentine (from what I remember they were just free “samplers” compiling levels from a few of the games). Oddly enough, I also recall not being too fond of Where’s My Water 2, but I wasn’t aware that was a widely held opinion or anything. I think even as a little kid I recognized the patterns of the “free to play” transition in mobile games and wasn’t a fan. One cool thing that happened with Where’s My Water for me was that it actually had a resurgence at my high school a few years ago. I never really got why, but everyone just started playing and talking about it all of a sudden- it was like the “cool” thing to play in class for a few weeks. I remember feeling so cool for having Where’s My Perry on my phone despite it having been delisted from the App Store lol. I wonder if that short resurgence was a widespread thing or if it was literally just at my high school. Anyways, you’ve inspired me to redownload all the games in the series that are still available on my iTunes purchased list. I was shocked to see Where’s My Perry is still available so maybe I’ll actually beat that game again!

Aside from this game, I also remember one with a sort of similar move the thing get the object narrative but it was about a cat trying to get milk and other objects, I can’t remember what it was called but it was a nostalgic app for sure

"Swampy. How creative." He was actually named after one of the creators of Phineas and Ferb

If you are using blue stacks you could essentially simulate the turning movement with a quick setting, it’s been a while since I’ve been on blue stacks but it was basically just an arrow that you clicked to rotate the screen, this worked for where’s my water because I remember being grounded and having my phone taken away so I downloaded blue stacks and installed where my water.

I enjoyed Where's my Water as a child, and despite the paywall, this game brings me a lot of good memories. I also loved Where’s my Perry. Two of my favorite games! Great video though!

Yes I agree that the levels can be boring later on, but I do still LOVE Where’s My Water to this day! 😊 And plus! The game’s music theme are stuck in my head, Forever! And I love it!

I honestly thought you were going to mention the hundreds of mobile game ads that have come about recently that market themselves as using almost exactly the same mechanics and set themselves up to be similar physics-based puzzle games only to be another candy crush knockoff when you actually go to the appstore. weird stuff

Even though it wasn’t a GREAT game, it was definitely a big part of some of childhood. I definitely remember playing this game on my moms Kindle.

By the way, I know the song credits are in the description, but the ending song is Rondo Alla Turca from the *PC-98 version* of Lemmings. I say this because the description doesn't specify what platform the song is ripped from. Edit: It can also be from the Sharp X6800, but I recognize the soundfont from PC-98 thanks to knowing other games with soundtracks from that system(yes, said games are the original Touhou pentology).

one interesting thing about the ducks is that they actually adsorb water to collect them, meaning not only are they hard to get, they make the rest of the stage harder if you are working with a limited supply of water

Back in the day, I bought a Nook solely to play Where's My Water and Angry Birds. There were no "paywalls" back then. You paid a tiny amount to buy the games and then got access to everything ad-free. They were like three or four dollars.

I remember playing the free 10 Days of Frankenweenie version of Where’s My Water that was on the store for a limited time. Yes, that exists. Look it up. Yes, I’ve played every “Where’s My” game, from the Perry one to the Mickey Mouse one. There was also a Holiday version, a Valentine’s Day version, and a Summer version.

My childhood... Also Swampy is named after Phineas and Ferb's co-creator Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, and it kinda explains why they ended up making a Perry based spinoff.

I redownloaded this game and cut the rope about a year ago and got to replay and rediscover bits of the games I’d forgotten about. It was still so much fun and is quite a smart game and is def one of my favorite games. Those were the only two games we ever paid to unlock, it might be time to redownload them again.

I was OBSESSED with where’s my water? I would play it in my iPad when I was a kid, it’s super nostalgic I remember they had a collaboration with Phineas and Ferb and changed it to Where’s my perry? During the collaboration.

Where's my water was the game that thought me basic video game physics, and am eternally grateful for the fun it gave. I also remember when Tim Burton's Frankenweenie got a collaboration.

I hate that Rovio periodically removed its apps. It used to have a cute puzzle game I spent years playing called Tiny Thief. Years later, I went to try and find it, only to see it was seemingly wiped clean from the internet.

Absolutely one of my favourite! Maybe I'm dumb, but there are many levels where I couldn't get all the ducks. I don't wanna move to a new level before I nail all the ducks making me stuck in a level. But, this is great! This means that I will never run out of levels to play lol...
