Hey Dane, I really enjoy your videos. I’m in Pittsburgh, not too far from you. I’ve been a driver since the early eighties. I have severe back pain. I can’t walk far or stand for a while. If I was able to, I’d be out there doing the same things that you are. Thanks for posting. I’ll keep watching.

The old Ford truck with the doghouse gone was a 1953 if that Grill on the ground went with that truck. I started driving full-time in January of 1974 I started in a 1973 DM600 Mack tri axle with the offset cab. The U model offset cab was usually Road tractors when new. In the late 70s I haul Rock from a quarry that still used a chain drive Mack for a supply truck around the Quarry. The R model Mack in your video was probably an R700 they had a longer Hood than the regular R600 Mack. Mack Trucks were good for construction and Hauling coal out of the pit. They had the toughest rear-end. Your video gets me thinking about my young years. Great video Thank you.

That R model Mack looked like it had a 2 stick 6 speed transmission. That extra low gear made taking off with heavy loads very easy. I enjoyed driving them especially with the 283/285 engine. It had 2 horsepower ratings, 285 at 1800 RPM and 283 at 2100 RPM. If you turned some fuel to it , it would pull really well 😊 Ad usual, another great video Mr. Dane

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Finally getting to watch this episode. It’s bittersweet when you see a place like this. Talking about seeing a wide variety of old iron history…WOW! Farm tractors, dozers, fire trucks, half tracks, etc. I grew up going to places like this with my dad & I sure appreciated it then & now! Most of that iron is still worth saving. I bet he knows most of the history of those things still. And you found some things that came from Ohio. Go figure. I bet there was something you picked up there. Some good stuff! Gonna see ya at the Jamboree! 🥰😎✌️

@@michaelnault5905I stand corrected, Ford did build the Y block until 1964, and used most in trucks so it's possible you did drive a truck with the 292. In 58 Ford came out with the FE series, that was used in big cars and trucks, from what I read it looks like the FE was used in bigger trucks like the F600 and F700.
