One of the most beautiful, possibly most difficult? possibly my favorite?, they are all so beautiful.... all 27 of them....This one is both regal, and sweet.written before no.26, the Coronation one, as in preparation for the upcoming coronation of? This pianist, of Eastern origin is a charismatic, wonderful pianist, woman and soul. Just seeing her beautiful photo I sensed she will be great...and she is...even beyond my expectations... I don't normally praise accompanists but this is an exception. My compliments to this orchestra for a fine performance. I was used to a bigger orchestra but this slimmed-down orchestra is just fine too.

I tuned in to listen to Daneshpour, whom I haven't heard very often, but I agree about the orchestra. I hate it when the orchestra is too big. This sounds perfect.

I'm not sure if "accompanists" is the right term to describe the role of an orchestra in a Mozart piano concerto. They are, after all, inherently dialogical, and the piano concerto as a dialogue between soloist and orchestra is his major invention and the quintessence of his concertos.

It’s not a solo sonata it’s a concerto. The orchestral part of a concerto is not a mere accompaniment but a equally most important part of the composition. You have the wrong impression of what a concerto actually is. That’s like saying only the first violinist is the important part of a string quartet but all the other instruments in the quartet is reduced to being a mere accompaniment. Ridiculous. Without the orchestral part there is no concerto. You need to listen to the piece as a whole and not isolate just concentrating on the soloist. The term accompanist in this context is somewhat insulting. Not the way Mozart intended for his music to be heard.

Llamadeus Mozart completely agree. Mozart’s Concertos for Pianoforte and orchestra are symphonic compositions. Without the orchestral part of the composition there is no concerto. I think a lot of piano students learn their respective instrument in a vacuum isolated from other classical musicians. It is a mistake for pianist not to have ensemble playing as part of their education. That’s not the way it was in the 18th and 19th centuries at conservatories in Europe. It is only in modern times that the pianist have become segregated from other musicians which is quite odd considering vast repertoire composed for the Pianoforte with other instruments.

According to the art history, after mannierism it came realism led by Caravaggio. But in our history of music interpretation, after Gould whose style is typically mannieristic, Daneshpour has arrived wearing typical New Yorker fashion, however, accompanied by the transparant intellectualism. Now, I can understand why Physical scholar Einstein Mozart loves. And finally, I can appreciate Mozart' piano concerts after a long absence since Landowska. Thank you very much!

It is the basic idea, pants and a sort of tunic, long shirt over baggy pants so typical in India but without a blouse there. But you are right, the texture, yes, colors, more elaborate style, materials? are not that of the India or Iran. She is both beautiful and elegant. I saw now pictures, in Iran women wear or are required to wear a tunic over a long skirt. Besides, it is confusing since her last name is Indian, maybe through marriage.??? Personally i liked the simple tunic over pants when i lived in India.

I always assess this concerto by the execution of a particular phrase near the finale, a short but adorable figuration that a professor of mine once described as the sort of gem of generative brilliance that Mozart channeled in such effortless quantity that he really just threw them over his shoulder. This one skips in a little introductory wink at 31:20 and then after some scaling the tonic comes back to repeat--three times--at 31:37, each iteration a more perfect pirouette of impish embellishment, a giggle so cavalier, and yet so elemental, so astonishingly, achingly human that it rises to join all such moments necessary for life to continue. And thus enraptured I want to kiss everyone sitting close to me, give all my worldly effects away and collapse in sobs of unmediated joy that there is a universe with those 17 seconds of seraphic music.

I know, I came as an immigrant from a very troubled European regime many years ago. This wonderful music and her great interpretation like hers sustains me in old age.. So glad she was born in the USA to fulfill her destiny, a born pianist, bring some much needed beauty to this troubled world and Americans must be proud to claim such a treasure in her!! The zooming helps to understand single parts of the concert, flutes, oboes, horns, first and second violins, violas and so on. Good work with camera, assisted by someone reading the script and indicating where to put the atention.
