When I used to use the radio I was in a habit of always logging off at a particular spot on the way home but when I changed to the app I would sometimes forget. One time I had my phone on silent and Marine Rescue and the cops were calling up my next of kin to check that I was back safely. I happened to bump into the boys at the ramp a couple of days later and rather sheepishly approached them an apologised. They laughed it off and said that it happens all the time. They do a great job keeping us safe on the water. Thanks for another excellent video.

@@DangarMarine Probably wouldn't be bad to do a video (perhaps collaborating with Marine Rescue) to reveal how the current state of tech arose and practical stuff boaties can do and avoid, so as to build habits that help people find their feet & manage risks appropriately. Could their app feature a warning that the expected end time is about to be exceeded, and pre-empt with "do you want to (auto-)extend?" prompt (perhaps using avg speed & distance to calculate a new, sensible ETA). Seems the tech does much more than leaving a note on the kitchen table about intentions for spontaneous activities on the water, as was the case a few decades ago.

Sydney Opera house is now an older building but she is still absolutely beautiful. I remember the first time I saw the structure decades ago. It is now 2020 and she still has the "wow" factor. The architect(s) did a masterful job. Stu, thank you for these videos-you are an inspiration. I am now 60+ years old, still working full time, and I just enrolled in the local technical college's marine technology program (part time) to get some formal training. I'm positive that watching you do your magic and enjoying your journey from the other side of the Pacific, was the main underlying motivation for me to take the step and get some formal training for myself. Supporting your channel on Paetron is some of the BEST money I get to spend every month.
