Wow! I actually felt like I was out there with you guys. Such an adventure. Quite a haul, with ancient pottery (the burnished Roman black pottery would be my favorite, but those pieces, with figurative decorations were great and I'm going to research Samianware), the usual Marmalade containers, poisin bottles and my heart skipped looking at the Uboat. Great Day! Oh and Si, HAPPY MUCKING BIRTHDAY, LAD!

"hovercrafts don't do well in these conditions" - keeps going anyway 😂. It probably wasn't as bad as it looked and the U-boat was worth it 👍. Glad you made it back safe. I've seen a lot of wooden ships under water. It always fascinates me to look at the construction.

Your hovercraft trips remind me of our fishing trips. Come back tired, happy, with a good haul. Water blasting the boat, someone ( my hubs) avoiding cleaning up as he HAS to gut & fillet fish. Then we sit and “de brief” happily, me with tea, them with cold beers, before everyone leaves for home for a big sleep. Wind burned and 😊

The Samian piece looks like Constellations/Zodiac: Leo the Lion, Scorpio at the top, and the human figure is missing too much to know which one. the cobolt blue is gorgeous. You guys look like you're having too much fun, for that to be legal, just kidding. thanks for taking us along.

The U-boat was very interesting,(will look a diagram of that), but it was the medieval ship wreck that really got my attention. To be honest, maritime history is a huge love. Will look up what kind of ship it could have been. So sorry to see Jules have such a struggle in the mud : ( But so much enjoyed your narration of your journey to the U-boat and the whole day! Always enjoy seeing all of the cool finds you brought in. The older pieces are the most fascinating. Is there a map of what that area was like when the Romans were there was like...and before? Your mud-larking buddies are the best! 😄
