I always share the good, the bad and the ugly with you and this week, it’s really ugly. I have a dangerous propane leak needs repair on RV. You don’t want to mess around with propane issues and this one is a big issue.

My rv leaked all it's propane out which took 3 days leak out, "50 gallons", trust me it is no fun, replaced the on and off valve from a Propane shop. Old one leak around the stem there was no shutting it off. I had it Refilled and checked everything tank, pipes, hoses, frig and water heater for any leaks with Soap bubbles, none to be found. Glad you got your RV fix, have fun this summer.

I have been around there so many times and never saw ViaRV. If you ever need to go there again and wait, our favorite pizza place (worth driving to from North Seattle in our book) is Astoria Pizza right behind Dairy Queen. They have a personal size 2 topping, salad with homemade dressings, and drink for a little over $11 that we love. Beats sitting in the waiting room if it is lunch time😊

And the Sound Transit light rail to Lynwood opens Aug 30th and fares drop to $3 (I work for them) so you can get there easy from work and pay for a lot shorter Uber ride if needed.

Glad it all worked out! We definitely depend on propane for our stove, oven, water heater and refrigerator. I couldn't imagine depending on electricity only during a power outage again.

For anyone who doesn't know... To check for propane leaks, spray all the connections with lightly soapy water every time they are re-connected. Even a pin-hole leak will produce a ton of bubbles with a little soapy water on it.

That was a significant leak! I wonder what caused it? Northbound traffic at that time of day can be challenging.

Whew, that must have been scary! Glad you and the rig are both OK! Fun fact: Travato has been my dream rig for... well probably since the first one was released. I finally bought myself a b-van last November but I got a Thor Scope because it was more affordable. I have a 3-month road trip planned for July (my first real trip in the van!) and I've had SO many van problems lately - my most recent was a roof leak 😭. Feeling at my wits end, I seriously considered taking it in and trading it in for a Travato, but your video reminded me of an important fact: all rigs have issues, we just have to stay calm and tackle them as they come up. It's all part of the adventure, right? Thanks for creating content, I love watching all your adventures (and meals!) and can't wait to see where your new Travato takes you!

😱 Danger Will Robinson!!! 😱 You scared me half to death!!!!! "Propane" and "Leak" are two words you do NOT want to hear in the same sentence!!! Ironically, my first RV Mod will be to add a "Quick Connect" to my RV Propane Tank so your video got my attention!!! I'm SO GLAD that you were able to have the leak fixed. I have never heard of a "Propane Tank Filter". I'll have to re-study the Propane Chapter of my NRVTA Home Training Course to see if I missed that! Looking good in your Work Attire! I know of several KZbin RVers who have installed GasStop on their rigs. It's an emergency shut off device for propane leaks.

Was the issue the propane regulator? I have heard several people have to replace that. I have a habit of buying any part that others have had fail and then just putting it away for when ours fails on our 2019K Travato. We just replaced the house batteries with lithium and added a bluetooth shunt. The extra power is amazing.

@@RVJedeye It really depends on how much time you would spend unplugged and how much 120 volts you want to use without starting up the generator. When your AGM house batteries get old at about 4 years the power they can supply drops from the original 100 amp hours to about half that. They are rated 100 ah each times 2 batteries but you are only suppose to draw them down 50%. We knew ours were at the end of their life when in the morning we turned on the inverter, plugged in a 500 watt tea pot and the 1000 inverter started beeping and could not supply 120v at 500 watts. Our Travato like yours has the loud generator so we really do not use it other than to "exercise" it once a month for a hour or so with the A/C load running. Getting the AGMs replaced with same in most cases would satisfy light usage. Lithium if you wanted to be out multiple days with out running the generator or plugging in. 2 new Lithium battery swap gives you easily 180 ah useable. Now that I am writing about it we probably did not need them either but I wanted to be like the cool kids. LOL Again the easy way to see if your house batteries are too old just plug in a 500 watt tea pot in the morning and turn on the inverter and fire it up. If it refuses to power up the pot then you need new batteries. Like anything in the Travato cost can be prohibitive if you have to hire out the labor. Some battery sellers with shops will do the AGM swap at reasonable cost but when you talk lithium they triple everything.
