God I love this car, getting an M60/M62 the first chance I get.

@@Old.jewish If you are getting any of these, make sure you cool them correctly. I have an adaptor thermostat housing from a diesel so I can run a colder thermostat at 82 dec C. Otherwise the thing is hot as hell. The oil was getting up to 120 deg c, now stays below 110 deg C even in traffic. And the knocking from the valves disappears almost completely.

It's the Vanos that makes them idle at half thousand revs and they make some "diesel like" noises. I love M62s
@simsnqta2 ай бұрын
@@toxiccrafterz The idle is actually 450rpm when fully hot but up to 1998-1999 they are Vanos free. One less thing to break down. The downside is, less torque at low rpm.

I remember driving one when I was 13. The last ever 90s bmw after that they became rubbish, unreliable, and ugly in comparison to Mercedes
@simsnqta2 ай бұрын
Mercedes (even some AMG) are no better nowadays. You get a hidden tooth belt for the oil pump which would require engine out and stripping to get to at 60k miles. You don't do it, your engine is kaput.
