I don't know if this was a worse experience for the demon or for me. I did try several times to contain it in various appliances, but it never seems to hold it. Eventually we solve the puzzle of the demon.

About the mail, there shouldn’t be mail slots inside an apartment like that. There should either be a cluster box for mail outside or a mail room on the main floor. Would simply take too much time for the mailman to go to each individual room inside and deliver, and no mail shouldn’t be left sticking out like that. It isn’t secure

A lot of places do have CBUs but i as a mailman have dealt with historical district buildings and a lot have doorslots like that, and they sometimes have angles that are too sharp for magazines to fit through so, you fold it and leave it sticking out, or try sticking it under the door. But yeah the delivery point is supposed to be secure.

@@chaosryans What do you mean by "too sharp angle to fit"? The angle shouldn't affect the fit, unless you mean the angle is a u-shape, as opposed to "an angle relative to the gravity vector"? Over here, I think it's probably 50-50. It's nice to get mail delivered into your apt. tho, as that means I don't have to walk the stairs each day to check. But like you say, it's not secure if the mailman leaves stuff sticking out (and for those thinking it has to do with ppl stealing mail: no, we are talking about criminals using it as an indicator for what households are at vacation). So I hope you avoid that if at all possible when you deliver mail :)

@@feha92 its kind of like its a Z shape. So the in-slot has a back wall and then a drop, so if the mail doesn't bend downwards by a certain degree it won't go inside. Not all are like that, but I've had plenty of good battles with them. Some have slots that push in, and some you have to lift up to open. Some in doors and others through walls.

@@MacaroniMancer it’s mostly in older houses with the boxes that are actually in the wall, the actual drop for the mail is at a 90 degree angle so it’s a pain in the ass to get mail in there. Carriers don’t always put the mail all the way in because of that and people just leave it for weeks on end.

@@feha92 I wouldn’t go that far mostly because, yes the carriers can be lazy, but if the people don’t notify the carriers about them being gone in a hold request or verbally, how are we supposed to know that someone isn’t home? Also, back when I was little people would always joke about the mailman getting the wrong address now I’ve had people yell at us about that even if it was a accident, I’ve seen one where people shared the same mailbox (apartments) and they won’t even drop it off to the other people expecting us to do it for them.

Even if the ppl are home, it is both a bad habit for carriers, and a problem either way. And simply sensible to ensure the mail falls through the hole. As for mistaken addresses. Yelling at you for that is stupid, mistakes happen, and that is true on all levels of mail-delivery, and entirely impossible to avoid. What is more interesting is how many levels of redundancy and checks we must (rightfully) have, considering it pretty much always finds it way to the right mailbox, eventually. Even if it actually was delivered to someone else, that person tends to take their own free time to ensure it reaches its recipient. The prior being entirely opposite of the anecdote you shared. To juxtapose it and show how scummy those ppl must be if they can't even be gratuitous that it was close enough to make basic civility enough to take it that very last step - honestly, I tracked down owner of a cellphone with dead battery that required getting my hands on an iphone charger, past midnight, with a 30 minute walk to deliver it to the person asap, and _still_ considered it a matter of course (as in, it might have required some creative problem-solving to make it memorable, but there was never a question as to what a person in my situation should try to do). And yet I can't help but question what would have happened if the ppl you mentioned had been in my shoes.

People indeed do. Or rather, mailmen do (the ppl who live there obviously hates it). It is a trick used to know if someone is on vacation or not, so the mailmen can make some extra money on the side. I have often wondered why it's legal. This is why, if you notice your neighbours mailbox looking like that, you should take a minute to push it in yourself. ...Personally I open my door so rarely, that they must think I am on a vacation constantly :p

As a parent myself, I can attest to the accuracy of this game. I’m actually watching this at almost 1 AM between screaming bouts of my youngest. Side note: The king likely refers to "The King in Yellow" a creation of HP Lovecraft. Its whole thing is that it exists within a play and any who read the play become utterly obsessed with it believing themselves to be king.

This game received another big update recently! It's called the "Bedtime Stories Update!" There's now new events for Nights 1-3, 6 more souls to collect on the "Escape" AKA the "White Rabbit" story route, & a new container near the demon baby's highchair called "The Doctor's Gift."
