And then the slurry is spread, often in very large quatities (very little controls other than a Farm Plan submitted to local County Council and often unenforced - staff shortages, trusting the farmy to compley etc.), regardless of the impact of these lethal gases on people living nearby or in the vicinity. They cause skin irritation, serious breathing issues ( some rural doctors correlate 60% of respiratory issues in their surgeries with the spreading). and can put huge pressure on people with auto- immune issues. Not just a Farm Issue!

One of his first comments was "I do everything right" I wouldn't call walking away from a tractor agitating for half an hour and leaving it unattended doing everything rite.

Aye but the warning signs and tape are there to tell people not to enter the area. He’s done what he can while it agitates. The mother should have noticed that her daughter left her sights and called the father.

@@thelettucepreacher1276 what child that age reads sighns or understands what red and white tape is for...mother home from school chances are she is making dinner for her kids...what other activities was the farmer at sweeping the yard and patching bales and checking his phone. At he height of slurry season I operate 2 agitators and possibly a borrowed one as well if we are under pressure. First rule don't enter the shed second rule di not leave operating machines unattended an animals life or human life may depend on it.

@@breenfay1958 living on a farm hed have taught his daughter not to go near the farm as we can hear in the video. So he has doen what he can to drill it into her. But as we know kids being kids get excited and do what they want. The mother should have been in high alert as it’s slurry season. He was sweeping the yard, patching bales and probably much more as it’s in a half hour time frame. He’s checking his phone as it’s not safe to return to the shed before 30 minutes and he’s a timer set. He did nothing wrong. It was an accident that the child slipped through them. And that’s what the advertisement is showing. Don’t let these accidents happen. Watch your kids, more importantly educate them on these dangers.

@@thelettucepreacher1276 and don't leave agitators unattended...can a dog read sighns a calf could break out of his pen and wander in to the shed the first thing you would do is go in after them. Ask anybody who agitates would they leave it unattended for half an hour I would think if you asked say 10 people at least 9 would say no way

@@breenfay1958 I’m talking from my knowledge. I don’t know anyone who constantly watches the tractor while agitating. Of course check up on it. But I do not know anyone who watches it for the full 30-45 they wait. They put up the signs, tape, tells the wife, and the wife makes sure the kids don’t go out of the house.

Replace the slurry gas with a random drug of choice and you now have an anti-drug PSA

Around 2014 it became a thing on /r9k/. But Reddit took it over and ruined it like many other memes.

Not a farmer here...! No idea WTF is a Slurry or why is so deadly...?
@mm3dgraphics2 жыл бұрын
Animal waste products are collected and form a "slurry". It can be used for fertilising and so on. The raw slurry is basically a lake of rotting organic material and gives off all kinds of dangerous gases, including H2S.
@Tactical_Assault_Pelican2 жыл бұрын
Basically its liquid animal waste, it gives off gasses as it rots that are all heavier than air and toxic so you breathe them in, ot pushes the air in your lungs out and you pass out while the gas continues to kill you
