Wow dude, obsess much? The question should be asked what would a team do if they had to put in an inexperienced emergency goalie? Absolutely everything they could to limit shots and scoring chances which is exactly what Carolina did that night. Ayers had no NHL experience but he’s been a goalie all his life and as you point out a dozen times he was part of the organization so he faced NHL shots a million times. It could even be argued the Leafs showed a lot of class by not trying to light up and embarrass a guy they knew and liked
