Hi All great video. Am very interested in using a DJI Mavic Air2 S for drone fishing. My little issue is the risk to almost 2k worth of drone. I know as an experienced pilot, landing in the drink is a no no. How do you ensure the motors and components stay free of salt and sand. Especially, doing launch and return on a windy beach. Ya can't hose it down can you. Salt water corrosion will surely provide some grief over time.

Hi Harry thanks for the support. MA2 are a fine drone to use for fishing, and can work great to get you among some good fishing areas. Their only limitation would be they don't work well in very windy conditions. Drones will accrue sand and salt no matter how meticulous you are at the beach with it so maintaining it is a must. I will wipe mine down with a damp cloth and treat the electrical connections to some anti-corrosion spray after beach use, and remove any visible sand particles. Not sure where you are located but here in West Aus there are dedicated drone shops that provide servicing for consumer drones, if you aren't confident in servicing yourself of course.

@@danglersdronefishing Thanks mate . Appreciate the prompt reply. We are in Victoria and suffer wind conditions similar to yours. Just struggling to get by using a drone with perhaps an IP rating that is not appropriate for this application. Probably should think about how often it may be used in this manner vs buying a dedicated drone with higher IP Rating. I understand, even "fishing drones" are rated to IP67 and that is for fresh water only, under lab conditions. Hence my concerns.

@@haitch1980 fair enough too. The DJI drones are pretty hardy and as long as you look after them should serve well. Mate of mine has a Mavic Pro, been 4 years dropping baits and it still flies like new.

Would you mind sharing the rig set up ur using paternoster or running ? And bait squid ? Thanks heaps
@danglersdronefishing2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate sorry for my late response! Pretty much running a paternoster rig, using big 8/0 circle hooks for each dropper and a 6oz grapnel sinker. Baits, use anything for snapper but I have most success using fresh mullet personally. Others I know swear by blue mackerel,some say squid 🤷♂️. Honestly snapper will eat near anything.
