In the second troll level, when given the choice between super ball, mega mush, smb2 mush, and link, you originally took link but then took damage from the thwomp and never realized that link was the only power up you could get through the room with.

The underwater-dark maze level immediately had me think that right at the start where the burners are, you get a powerup. There's also some thwomps ambushing from the dark. My theory is that a door or pipe is hiding behind the thwomps if you damage boost.

To keep the master sword and Mario sandwich is watered down you have to lose it first then navigate you the pipe or the door was collect the coins go through the door it resets the master sword so when you swim back up there the sword will fall down past the ghost and you can collect it

I think for that underwater maze level, what you had to do was take the Link powerup in the room with 4 different powerups. Then you could keep a powerup while still being able to get the P switch. When when you get to the boo part you can damage through it, and the master sword above you would fall through so you can be Link to kill the pokeys

I had just commented the same thing except look at the pokey room. Where is Mario going once you get past the pokeys. Unless there are hidden blocks that allow you to go up and to the right or left then I don’t see the pokey room being the correct path

I believe Dave just missed the hint to advance. Before entering the p-door you can see a master sword kept dropping in the right corner. I think you are supposed to hit a p-switch in the maze and go back to grab a falling master sword near the beginning of the maze.
