So how would you describe Thailand and the start being R? If I was a kook looking for shitty waves. I'd go to Sri Lanka.
@asieretxearte5 ай бұрын
@@JohnThomas-i4x haven't been to Thailand. There are a great number of them in Sri Lanka and Indonesia (mostly Bali) as well. But I wouldn't say their attitude is comparable to that of God's people. I would put them in the kook with no previous surfing culture=ignorance category. Same as northern Europeans, but with an aggressive attitude when confronted about it. God's people are a whole other level, the entitlement, the lack of respect for anyone (including their own) and the aggressive behavior in the lineup is unbearable. Selfishness and greed at its finest. Also, it isn't just one, most of them have the same manners at least in the water, so multiply that by 60% of the lineup.

A quote I once heard,’The best surfer in the water is the one having the most fun’. At least you can laugh about it!

As for the power, it’s pumping 2-3 times per season when the wave is above 6-7 feet. So not very much true that it is mellow when it’s pumping

Is it easy to travel with a board? Also what board would you suggest? I'm deciding whether I should bring my fish or my thruster
@JohnDoe-i5b5 ай бұрын
probably both mate
@malsetmal5 ай бұрын
Both. Point will be fun with a fish on smaller days
@DanHarmon1235 ай бұрын
Yeah both boards will be good over there... And yes fairly straightforward, most taxi drivers are ok with boards and ok on trains!

Dan, does the dry season coincide with the wave season
@DanHarmon1235 ай бұрын
Hmmm, Yeah I think the dry season is the surf season!!

night bus to and from abay is fine if you ready to go sleepless for cheap. they take boards too. also once on location get your own transport there. trust me. you will enjoy it insanely more.
@DanHarmon1235 ай бұрын
Ahhh that's good to know. Didn't even know there was a bus too be honest!! Thanks for the info :)
@JohnDoe-i5b5 ай бұрын
@@DanHarmon123 yeah, tickets can be bought in abay at the western union place. bus goes to and leaves from Pottuvil and the main bus terminal place in Columbo.
