AMAZON Golf Tees That SHOCKED Me | TWO That Add Yards!

I have to say that when I hear things like 'These Golf Tees will give you Yards' I'm a little sceptical, however today I thought I would put some tees I picked up at the PGA Show a test to see if they allow me to hit the ball further as the companies say they will.
Let's take a closer look.

I can confirm, the survivor type tee is more durable, appears to assist with a cleaner launch and total distance does improve. I have played two full rounds with the same tee.

Purchased the Tornado tees back in early December. Play every week and I have not lost or broken them. Of the pack of 5 ,four are untouched. incidentally the drives are longer (10 m) and the left to right dispersion has reduced. Try them. I would like to know whether the tees have helped or whether I am a better golfer!

Dan I actually use bamboo Tees I ordered online from the UK and had posted to Australia. I find that they do eventually break but I definitely get several rounds out of one Tee. I can’t say that they offer anything extra in distance or dispersion though.🇦🇺👍

Dan you could also look at the SWIFTEE , there about £8/£9 for 10 but they lean the ball at a angle to help with everything your talking about

I use wooden tees from DM golf. They are ordinary white tees but have all the height markings for all the castle tees. £7.79 for 50. I still use castle tees on the Mats on the course.

WOODERN tee tilted slightly forward. I’ve found that lowers spin rate. I could be talking utter bollox but it appears to work and I get a few extra yards

Well Dan I would say tee height would affect driver more that's why a lot of people use castle tees for consistent tee height. Also ball position and getting a consistent set-up. But I'm no PGA professional 😢😊

I started last year with a Martini tee (step version, what you call castle tee) and it lasted the entire year, never broke but had to hunt for it a few times after hitting. Easily played over 100 rounds last year with it.

Hi Dan, the USGA has addressed the use of tees as follows: "1. Tees (Rule 6.2) A tee is a device designed to raise the ball off the ground. A tee must not: be longer than 4 inches (101.6 mm); be designed or manufactured in such a way that it could indicate line of play; unduly influence the movement of the ball; or otherwise assist the player in making a stroke or in his play. Note: As an exception for difficult turf conditions, tees tethered together or to an anchor may be used during the round provided that the player does not align the tees or tether in such a way that could indicate line of play or otherwise assist the player in making a stroke." Whether these new tees "unduly influence...or ...otherwise assist" is a moot point in my opinion, as reducing spin obviously does influence the movement of the ball.

I use one of the million tees I picked up when I lived in Dubai. In winter usually use a castle when the ground is hard. I think it’ll make absolutely no difference 😳

Interesting results Dan but as I see to end up with more tees than I start with each round as I seem to pickup some as I play. But the Survivor Tee might be of interest to see how long it lasts

Castle tees for me to give consistent tee height. If my low point is not accurate enough why would I want to add another variable?

What I've noticed watching many club reviews is that the tester tends to get slightly faster and gets more dialed in as the testing progresses, so could it be down to testing the castle tees first? What would be the results if you tested the all singing and dancing tees first? Did your strike on the club face get better and more centered as the test went on? Just a thought. PS I am grateful just to hit the ball on any tee.

I just get the cheapest wooden tees off amazon. They have stripes on which help keep change the hight depending on the club and shot. Can't imagine paying any more for something which won't make a massive difference to my game.

I’d say at the track man range I practise at where they have like those shit conduits rubber tees - I lose about 2-3mph ball speed v my regular bamboo peg(edit at 9mins) on Amazon a 20pack is £15 for the pure shot

I found your observations most interesting but in mathematics there are variables and constants, in research there must be equipoise to each arm of your hypothesis and in statistics there must be a sample size calculated to determine actual significance between each study component arm to make conclusions. Whilst your observations here are interesting they would be challenged by a capable researcher. Finally, a view must be sought from the R&A to determine if particular tee pegs fall within or outside of the rules of golf. In the past, when specific items of equipment are found to be advantageous, they subsequently become banned. Remember box grooves on wedges! BTW I use pink castle tee pegs for a driver and red castle tee pegs for a fairway wood or iron for simple consistency of height.

My favorite choice for tees is what is called the MOLAR tee, but I will play most any tee. For my irons off the tee I like the Martini tees.

Sorry Dan this is American BS and golfing Marketing BS which is rife in the industry. Tee height makes a difference but even at 7 handicap, a tee is not going to make enough of a difference to distance or dispersion as my swing is not robotic. However, I have not bought a new tee in 10 years as people are so generous at leaving tees behind which I happily pick up and recycle. Similar with balls. So my message to my fellow golfer - your generosity is much appreciated. 😂😂😂

Needed to be a blind test, look at the tees in your hand! Lol 150mph, look into statistical analysis and how to set up a blind test. Were you given these tees? Confirmation bias perhaps, could be confirmation bias, get someone else to test but don’t tell them what they’re testing for example

I picked them up at the PGA Show because I was fed up of listening to companies saying that they can give you more yardage. I think the key to both of the tees from the show is that the spin is down by a big way. Considering that the tee heights are the same which means strike location will be similar 🤷🏻‍♂️ believe it or not but it impressed me.

Very surprised by the results. Personally I have moved away from plastic tees to bamboo castle tees so that they are a bit more environmentally friendly, when I run out of those I may try the tees made from coffee waste to be even more environmentally friendly. The actual test was obviously just a taster. To be statistically sound Dan would need to hit a lot more shots, look at the standard deviation, consider statistically significance maybe even get a professional statistician to calculate p- values (or similar) to ensure the results were not just chance - but tbh that is my problem with a lot of the head to head testing we see on YT, and that is because the YTuber is a golfer not a professional statistician. As a taster the test was fascinating, just shows that a much more thorough test is needed
