I miss this, this was one of my all time favorite childhood coasters

This is one of the most under rated wooden coasters I've been on. It's got quite a bit of air time and it's pretty fast all the way to the end.

I remember seeing this coaster many times as a kid driving on 95 with my dad. I always used to ask about it and thought it was really old (given the wood construction). Sadly it closed before I was able to ride it, it's just a distant memory now in 2022. I have been in the Boomers arcade a few times, I have a cup with tokens somewhere that I kept.

This would have made the greatest RMC. I grew up going to BOOMERS on Fridays in middle and high school to LAP this beauty.

I miss this coaster. I've brought dozens of people on it when they would visit me in FL. But I guess S FL needed yet another shopping mall so down it went. So incredibly sad. SO underrated!

Such an underrated wooden coaster. And don't get me started on how awesome the go-kart tracks are there!

In 2004 I celebrated my 14th birthday party there and I must have rode that roller coaster 100 times now I’m 31. I heard through the grapevine that it was expensive to maintain it. Due to technology less kids wanted to go to boomers and rather stay on there phone. I was actually at the Dania Beach Improv last night and it’s exactly where the hurricane used to be. Brought tears to my eyes because the big shopping mall is very bland and hardly anyone is there so I didn’t see the need for a big shopping mall. I feel bad for all of south Florida not a single piece of land is safe down here.

last coaster Ive been on in a while is the CGI coaster that comes on the screen at Regal Cinema movie theaters. I sit there in my theater seat and imagine a cold night as the Computer generated coaster rolls around the curves and down the drops, and then it comes into a tunnel and across an indoor bridge. and then comes a half hour of movie previews.

They are gonna close down this ride. I can't believe it. This was my all time favorite rollercoaster :(

@TurnLeftAgain - Just to put a little more color on it. Dania Beach is about 1/2 hour north of Miami and about 5 minutes south of Fort Lauderdale. The coaster is right off of I-95 so it's easy to find (I forget if it's the Sterling or Sheridan exit -- but you can't miss it).

Funny thing is "The Hurricane" was damaged in a hurricane and they never fixed it. Park is closed now. I watched this and I have to say, even when it was open it seemed as though you were riding a dilapidated, abandoned, coaster. I rode it once and PRAYED to make it back to the station.
@omarnoble47883 жыл бұрын
Used to go to the park with my cousin specifically to marathon this ride for hours. We were both pretty intimately familiar with the ride experience. You are right. I think it was hurricane Wilma. I remember waiting for them to announce the reopening. When we went back we both agreed that we probably shouldn't return. A wooden coaster in SF needs to have steel supports at the very least.

This was such a good coaster. I literally rode it for hours when it first opened. This footage is really rough and judging by the rust on the track and the wheels squealing on the turns it was poorly cared for. Didn't they every grease the track? Same it is gone.

woah! just read the description and i had no idea that Thunder Eagle was being used for parts for the Zippen Pippen! So that's where they're getting all the new wood from! lol I'm wondering cuz i'm from Green Bay Wisconsin, welcome to Green Bay Zippin Pippin!

From what I could find about this ride from video, pictures, and stats; this is how the ride always looked and operated from day one, in terms of how many actually rode it.
