En Latinoamérica escuchamos a los Bee Gees con el auge de la película "Saturday Night Fever" y muchos de nosotros buscamos lo que habían producido antes de 1978. Toda su música es genial. Artistas completos.

Thanks Dani, I love all your reactions to the Bee Gees, my all time favorite group. Check out the first song they wrote, "Morning of My Life", which was written when Barry was 9 years old and the twins, Maurice and Robin, were 6 years old.

“First Of May” is my favourite Bee Gees song Dani. It’s a bit of a tear-jerker, but still a classic. “Laserdic70” uploaded the best version. Have a great day. 🤓

We covered this song in the last band I was in (back in the 90s). We rocked it up a little more, substituting a ride tom/floor tom for the hand claps and a slightly rocked up guitar sound. The harmonies were really fun. On a side note, since they're English, they pronounce Maurice as "Morris".

OMG I swear I thought this was the Beatles singing this song. I was only a 10yo when I first heard this song. I didn't learn of the BeeGees til Saturday night Fever came out.
@kevingilliam6807 Жыл бұрын
It blows my mind that no one seems to notice that the BeeGees are channeling the recently broken up Beatles on this. The harmonies really recall “Because” and Barry is absolutely possessed by the soul of John Lennon here. You could drop this song on Abbey Road and the uninitiated would never know it was the Fab 4. This is high praise from me as I think Abbey Road is the apex of rock music. This song is just perfect. I only wish it were longer so I didn’t always end up putting it on repeat for about 4 listens.

Thanks for reacting to this, Dani -- especially this version -- to me, it seems very like "Beatles" -my favorite is always Robin... but any one of those guys could hit any one of those notes on any day of the week -- (and Maurice totally got the least credit --he was great!) look forward to more from you...

This was 1 of 2 songs ( the other being How Can You Mend A Broken Heart) written in one day, after their 15 month break up. Robin called Barry and the 3 of them got back together to write again.

Thx a lot, like a lot your reaction. Love this track but for me it would be much better if the second verse could perhaps have been sung in its entirety and especially with different lyrics than the first one. And why not? a pleasant bridge might also have been missing? I would also have appreciated a longer ending. So a little bit frustrating for me.
