The most rocking of tone of Elvis' vocals were in 1968-69. Rough but tender when he wanted to be. Awesome!

A great, bluesy masterpiece from The King. If I may be so bold to suggest a song to review: "Where have they gone, Lord?" This isn't a Gospel song but a powerful love song from '71. I only discovered it a few weeks ago and it blew me away. I'll bet 90% of your Elvis fans never heard it before. You won't be disappointed. Thanks, for another great review.

This version is from the "Guitar Man" album from the 80's. All the backing music was revamped, to make it sound more up to date. Prefer the original version myself, more earthy to me. Thanks Dani for TCB for the 👑. All the best Gary. 👍

I agree @ Gary Smith they took away from the American Sound Studios band sound far left field on this version with Reggie Youngs beginning guitar work gone

@@tcb5677 You can't change perfection. Elvis had so much input in the production of his songs, that if you remove it, it becomes a little soulless to me. 👍
@davidhunt36893 жыл бұрын
The strong guitar replacing the clapping beats is wrong for his version. Which is why Elvis put it out the way he wanted. All these alternate versions like Viva Elvis to Royal Philharmonic Opera change the spirit of the original.

It gives me such joy to see you loving and sharing Elvis's music. I recently discovered that he recorded "Danny Boy" (at his dad's request) in 1976. It's one of my all-time favorite songs, but Elvis's interpretation made me feel like I was hearing it for the first time. I hope you'll give us your reaction to it.

Great blues number from the year Elvis made his big comeback to the recording studio. As someone else pointed out, the arrangement on this version was "jazzed up" for a 1982 release. Try to find the original release, the arrangement is better. It's still Elvis, so you can't go wrong. I love his performance here.

If you liked seeing a photo of a young Elvis on stage in front of a crowd, this is a must see for you: Elvis Presley - Live 1956, Tupelo's Own. The quality isn't great but it's really fun to watch. I hope you'll give us your reaction to it.

Bought 1981 album "Guitar Man". New backround etc. Produced by Felton Jarvis. This version is ok but I got the original "From Elvis in Memphis" as well. His raspy voice is due to singing so much that Elvis could not always control his voice. All you have to do is listen to "Wearin' That Loved on Look" outtakes. I suppose part of this January and February 1969 session was released when album "Back in Memphis" came out with some songs recorded later that year.

I grew up in the Elvis era and saw and felt what an impact he had on the music world. Thanks for reacting to him and some of the older music, such as the Carpenters. But I notice that you have not reacted to So Hyang, a singer from S. Korea, who sings to comfort those going through a hard time. She is a cancer survivor about age 20 which rendered her unable to have a baby. She's 43-44 now and she would have not been known but for the contest she entered around 2014-15 such as I Am Singer and the Masked Singer since she rejected all the offers to record and tour. Start out with Bridge Over Troubled Water, Lean On Me, You Raise Me Up and Arirang Alone and go from there. If you get her videos from Vimeo you can get English subtitles such as her song Everyone. She is often called the Mariah Carey of Korea but she was also influenced by Whitney Houston (I Will Always Love You) and Celine Dion(The Power of Love). There have been some issues which blocked some of her videos but some have gotten by by breaking in every 20-30 sec. Her range is insane and her control through her registers is phenominal but above all she conveys the emotion and message of the song so as to bring tears (of joy) to all who listen with an open heart. I love the honesty and sincerity in your reactions. Keep up the good (great) work on these reactions and KEEP SINGING!

Only Elvis's voice is from 1969 Dani. This was done in 1980. Bought guitar man album back in the day, but didn't like that they put new music onto Elvis's voice to 'jazz' the tunes up.

Strange version....the original is much better.why must the music be tampered with...but,it's still the man's voice..originally this is on the album with Suspicious Minds and Kentucky Rain.. they took the guts out of this song and made it sound too glossy and clean...too me it's like taking a painting and redoing parts of it but not tby the original artists themselves...Elvis played guitar on the original proper version and that seems to have been deleted...wow
