This is a true story, I have an older sister who loved Elvis beyond comprehension, she was a few years older than me, anyways back in 1956 or 1957 or so, she was 10 and I was 7 years old, we went to the local movie theater to see "Lover Me Tender" when it first came out. My big sister wanted me to go with her, I liked him too, I actually saw this performance on ED Sullivan live back then. I remember during the movie at the theater there was so much screaming by the girls you literally could not hear the movie soundtrack. Here's the good part, the girls got so excited that some girls were passing out in the isles and were having to be carried out to the lobby to recuperate. I bet I saw more than a couple of dozen girls pass out from screaming and just being over excited! It was, to this day, one of the most amazing things I ever saw! That was what effect Elvis had on the youth (girls) in this country back in the day, had to been there!

When he got on stage his energy is charisma his stage presence blew me away I was in awe after that I had seen many many concerts over the years that was still the best concert I've ever seen I have never seen another performer do what he did that night best concert I ever saw.

Dani, I’m 71 years old and love everything about Elvis Presley. A lot of people my age keep telling me that Elvis’ draw is going to fade away after our generation is gone. But, when I see people of your age react the way you do, I know that Elvis will never die. His attraction will never fade. His fans will never forget. It was fun watching your reaction to one of my favorite Elvis songs. My wife loved it too.

Elvis Presley changed and talks about his past, but he has his fans in his mind....As you listen to Pastor Bob Joyce (Elvis) in this video when you go to 10:15 he hints about his life before! Interesting isn't it? Here are the words that he says (go to 10:15 in the video): "There is something about this man, that is so appealing to me. That I am not going to concern ... I'm not going to concern myself with what I was and what I had before. Because Jesus makes a difference in my life. There is something about Jesus that causes me not to even be so concerned about my life that I had before. Or my problems or whatever it is that I had in life. Suddenly things have changed, my mind has changed, my affections, my ah ... interests has changed. I'm not interested in how many fish I can catch today. I'm interested to see what Jesus is going to do next. Can you imagine walking with Jesus everywhere you went. Listen what I am telling you this morning is reality." This is my favorite Elvis song. There's something about the way he sings this song and the emotion he pours into it that I truly love in a profound way that goes beyond music. I love music and I love Elvis but then I hear Love Me sung by Elvis and for those two minutes, I am connected to life in a way nothing else connects me to life. If I weren't in the safe presence of my fellow Elvis fans, I wouldn't say that but I know here that it goes without saying that how Elvis makes me feel and how I love this song is impossible to put into proper words.

Elvis was a comedian. It came out a lot in this performance. He was doing a parody of himself and other Do Wop groups of that day. The rock group Led Zeppelin went to one of his concerts in 1974. Elvis was aware of that too. He said something to the effect "Hey Led Zeppelin is in the house tonight. We've got to get it right." Robert Plant and others went backstage after the show and spent hours talking with Elvis. Of course they were big fans of him. Elvis asked what song in particular was Robert's favorite. Robert replied "Love Me." As the group left the room Elvis sang part of the song and Robert did so too back and forth. What a send-off, huh?

My parents are in their 80s and yes, Elvis is one of their favorites. They played his music when I was growing up and it became in escapable in the early 70s-mid. We all know Elvis is the King of Rock and thats coming from a guy who came of age in the late 70s and rocked to all the super groups of that time, but at the end of the day, its Elvis and his voice, his style in not only presenting himself on stage but as a real person in general..Elvis is a true blue American hero.
