This year I saw a program on TV about how smart and quick learning they are. In the program, you could see how a man built a long obstacle course for squirrels to use to reach the food, they only used the long obstacle course once before they had realized how they could reach the food place faster. So it's pointless to do that, as they quickly find a shortcut to the food.

If you are afraid of ice, have a look at a thing called broddar, which are strap-on spikes for your shoes. I never leave the house without them during the white season, and you will be able to walk on ice like it was nothing! You can find those cheaply in almost every supermarket here in the north, and definitely at stores where you can buy winter jackets.

A thought..., but first, thank you for all the wideos. Maybe the squirrels finds "the right" way If the "take off" is more comfortable. What about a limb/branch from a spruce tree. Nail/skrew/ tie it between two pole's so they'll have a longer runway to take off from. Like when they are jumping between trees in the forest. Greetings from northwest of Dalarna.
