Yes, spring is the best season. Dani, I think we all get depressed in dark January and cold February, here in Sweden, but then spring comes. 😀 Thanks for another great video. 🙂

Absolutely beautiful photography of the grouse lekking, in all their puffed up majesty. It's similar to the sharp-tailed grouse swagger in North America however the black grouse is much more colorful. Their red eye combs are such a brilliant color contrasting with their black feathering. Thank you for sharing.

The subarctic spring is such an intense change, almost abrupt. Light, birds, crazy snow melt, green leaves, insects, flowers. I grew up a bit north of where you are, and I now live in Stockholm - a fair bit to the south, and even here, the springs are much less intense.

Thanx for this beautiful video. Beside: If you like Abba's music, I can hint that Janne Schaffer, who played together with Abba, is playing at a festival in Mobacken in western Skellefteå.( He's behind their guitar riffs). There is also a forest here where the rare white-backed woodpecker has settled. It is a primeval forest, which in the summers becomes a djungle. Welcome ..!

Hi Dani, once again such nice video. I fully agree with your thoughts. Spring is the best time when first colours coming back and the wildflowers covers the ground in the woods, the tiny bushes get their first green leafes and than in days the forrest explode with new leafes. The first green of the forrests hurts my eyes. Nice to watch the birds talking to each other. In my garden I've provided wild bees cleaned appartements and they are very busy. One of my nest boxes has been rented out and such makes me feel good. Nice footage of the black grouces. Btw, the Dani styly pizza looked very yummy. CU

Hi Dani! You told me about your near burnout and lack of motivation. Tips for you but also your guy, then when you feel that way and you are natural people. Take and go out into nature far and take and pitch a tent by a river. Sit down and make a fire, enjoy the peace, listen to the water rushing by, listen to the birds. Breathe in the clean air. Enjoy all of this and you and your guy will feel better. When you sleep outside in nature up here, you will notice that you will sleep better and for a shorter time but still feel rested. Take the time to just be and enjoy that there are no obligations but enjoy the moment, and you and your guy will feel much better. Up here it's very common during the spring winter as it's called in Lapland, go out into the forest and just be, make a fire and enjoy just being, this creates calm for us and we don't get stressed and it's good to take it calmly When you live up here, you have to learn to relax and take it easy, because we up here don't stress unnecessarily, become a northerner. Up here in Lapland it's spring now and the sun doesn't set anymore until around July 20th.

That’s a great tip. My issue recently has been that every time I go to the forest, if I’m not taking photos or video, I feel I’m being unproductive and go home. But it should be somewhere I switch off. I like the idea of camping!
@ingvartorma9789 Жыл бұрын
What you then have to tell yourself is that you are not unproductive just because you are not constantly taking pictures, but you just want to enjoy the moment. If the thought should still appear, think about something else or talk about something completely different with your guy, so the thoughts go away. Sit down, take deep breaths through your nose and let the air out through your mouth and smell the fresh air. Camping is wonderful, I myself have slept by the riverside under the open sky and without a tent. What you and your boyfriend will notice is that everything tastes better in the forest.

There is of course the flipside in northern Sweden during the winter when the sun never rises over the horizon for a month depending on how far north you live. My father used to tell stories about a tradition in Kiruna where people gather outside in early january to catch the first glimpse of the sun as it peeks over the horison for roughly 20 minutes.
