Thanks for the lesson. Thought that Isaiah 14:12-14 is not referring to Satan but in the context, it refers to the Babylonian King?
@AngelsintheGlen
@AngelsintheGlen 4 жыл бұрын
@@josephlee6598 It is referring to both the king of Babylon and Lucifer. It is describing the judgment and fall of both. What happened in literal Babylon will happen in mystical (or spiritual) Babylon. Isaiah chapter 13 is a literal prediction of the fall and destruction of literal Babylon. That prediction gives us a figure (or a representation) of the fall of mystical Babylon. Consider Revelation 14:8 (fallen, fallen is Babylon); 17:5 (mystery Babylon); 17:16 (made desolate and burned with fire); 18:4 (warning for God's people to come out of Babylon so they will not receive her plagues); 19:2 (judgment of Babylon the harlot). In Isaiah 14:12 "star of the morning" means shining one or brilliant one. Lucifer means light bearer and he wants to sit on the mount of the assembly in the recesses of the north (v 13). Notice in Psalms 48:1-2 that the city of God, His holy mountain, is in the far north. This is Satan's envy. He wants to raise himself and be like the Most High, but he will be thrust down (v 15) in the final judgment. Many passages in the OT have a double application. This is one of the key points we make in this series. That is, just as literal Israel (Judah) was taken captive to literal Babylon, so too, God's church, spiritual Israel were taken captive to spiritual/mystical Babylon. In both cases, God's people came out and are coming out of spiritual captivity. As we write this, God's people are coming out of spiritual confusion that spiritual Babylon has caused. Greater truth is being shed upon God's people because God is reconstituting His people. He is preparing a people to be ready for His soon return. This is what our series is all about. Thanks again for your question.

My understanding is that the length of the vision is 2300 days (years) and the starting point of the vision is Alexander the great conquering Persia. That happened on 7th June year 334 b.c. That is the year 3427 according to jewish calender. If you add 2300 years its the year 5727 = 1967 What do you think happened on the 7th june 1967?

The starting point is identified in Daniel 9 and is the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem in 457 B.C. If you keep watching our videos in Daniel 8 and 9, there are two visions, namely the 2300 (Daniel 8:14) and the seventy weeks (Daniel 9:24). The visions are related and have the same starting point with the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. All of this is explained in our videos.

@@AngelsintheGlen So how do you explain that both ”an anointed one” and the temple would be destroyed within the last week?
@AngelsintheGlen
@AngelsintheGlen 3 жыл бұрын
@@onni5073 We explain this in the Daniel 9 video. There is a common misconception regarding the destruction of the temple. It was not destroyed in the final week because the only time specified for its destruction is [after] the sixty-two weeks. Meaning sometime [after] the sixty-two weeks. The only specification is [after]. However, while the Messiah (anointed one) on the other hand is said to be cut off and have nothing [after] the sixty-two weeks, there is a specified time that [He] would be cut off and have nothing, namely, in the middle of the last week. We recommend watching all three parts of our Daniel 8 and 9 videos. All of the details will be fully explained. If you have any questions after watching those videos you can contact us directly through our website. Thanks.

Theologian Paulien just commented, “Another factor here is that Dan 8:3-12 is a vision, Daniel is describing what he saw. Verses 13-14 are an audition, Daniel is describing what he heard. So I would see the chazon to be verses 3-12 and the mareh the audition of 13-14. It is the mareh portion of Dan 8 that remains unexplained at the end of the chapter.” Tried to explain the Mareh is the Man Jesus, but he isn’t agreeing.

I don’t know if you check and answer comments, but I have a question. In 2 Peter 3:8 (ESV) it says, “...a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” In another video, you explained that a prophetic “day” is a year. Other places the Bible specifies “evenings and mornings”. So are we to assume the “evenings and mornings” are the 24 hour days? Also, do you have a video explaining the difference between “the prophetic day = 1 year” and the “Lord’s day = 1,000 years” concepts? Thank you. God bless you.
@AngelsintheGlen
@AngelsintheGlen 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. Recommend watching our Daniel 1 video where we explain the prophetic principle that one day (in Bible prophecy) equal one literal year. We provide some examples, e.g. Ezk 4:5-6; Num 14:34; and Gen 29:20, 27. There are many others. However, notice that 2 Peter 3:8 is not talking about a prophetic time period, rather that God is patiently awaiting the day of judgment (see verse 9). He does not wish for any to perish but all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:8 can be cross referenced to Psalm 90:4 (NASB) 4 “For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or as a watch in the night.” In context, the thousand years in both of these verses are stressing the reality that God is beyond our concept of time. God cannot be confined to time. And yes. The 2300 [evenings and mornings] are 2300 days. This is obviously part of the prophetic vision that Daniel sees and is therefore referring to prophetic days, i.e. literal years. However, Revelation 20 is the only other passage in the Bible that refers to a one-thousand-year period. See Revelation 20:2,3,4,5,6, and 7. We recognize this period as a literal one-thousand years.

How did you get to the conclusion that the voice is saying he must explain the vision of the man and not the vision he just saw prior to him pondering on it? Especially seeing that the angel goes ahead and explains the initial vision and not the image of the man.
@AngelsintheGlen

Verse 15 introduces the 2nd vision that Daniel sees. There are two visions in Daniel 8 (the chazown and the mareh) In verse 15 Daniel sees one who looked ("mareh") like a man. The word "mareh" in the Hebrew means vision, sight, or appearance. In verse 16 Gabriel is instructed to give Daniel an understanding of the vision (the "mareh" of the man he just saw). As you read/study chapter 8, make sure you distinguish between the two visions. We address every instance in this video and you can verify this with any Bible app or program that translates Hebrew to English. We also have charts that breakdown every instance between the two visions. Knowing that there are two visions is the most important element to understand Daniel 8. Without the knowledge of the two visions and how they are related, one cannot understand Daniel 8, nor can fully understand how Daniel 9, 10, 11, and 12 all work together as a unit. In fact, it is so important that there is a link to Revelation that allows us to unlock the next steps in the prophetic time periods.

Sorry to sound odd, but when he said, "saw in the vision" could that actually mean Daniel had a vision in a dream?
@AngelsintheGlen
@AngelsintheGlen Жыл бұрын
Good question. Compare with Daniel 7:1. In Daniel 7:1 Daniel is lying on his bed, implying sleeping and the word dream is used. It is likely that Daniel saw the Daniel 7 vision while he was asleep dreaming. However, in Daniel 8:1 there is no mention of lying in bed or dreaming. It seems likely that in Daniel 8 he was taken off in vision at some point during the day because the vision appeared to him. And at the end of the vision in Daniel 8:27 he is exhausted and sick for days. The vision obviously took a severe toll on his mind and body. He saw some very troubling future scenes (which we explain in the video).

What gender is the 'one' in Daniel 8:9?
@AngelsintheGlen
@AngelsintheGlen 3 жыл бұрын
Hebrew numbers (whether cardinal or ordinal) match in gender to the noun, pronoun, or word they modify. They can be feminine or masculine. However, in the case of Daniel 8:9 (NASB) “Out of one of them…” “one” is modifying “them” - and “them” is masculine.

A bit of a nit and not super important but keep "Secret" is actually a mis-translation from the ancient Hebrew. If you take the better translation it would be to "preserve". Has the same end intent just a bit smoother. Secondly your interpretation that the one who magnifies himself is Rome is interesting but is a tough one in light of history and the interpretation later in the chapter. It seems Antiochus is pretty hard to overcome. The masculine/feminine argument is pretty weak if you stat expanding it to other parts of the old testament Hebrew it breaks down pretty quickly. Additionally, there is a gap in that there is no conquest of Greece by Rome in this interpretation of the little horn. Rome didn't just appear out of the wind. read of the wars between Greece and Rome.

Stick with us on our series, especially our remaining videos in Daniel 8 and 9. To understand Daniel 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 (and go on confidently to the book of Revelation) one must understand the two visions in Daniel 8 (namely the mareh and the chazown). Once a serious Bible student recognizes the relationship between the two visions, the Antiochus (conclusion) fades away permanently. (We recognize that almost all of the Christian Church adheres (somewhat emotionally) to the Antiochus conclusion, however, there are simply too many insurmountable problems. We explain many of them throughout our series). The pattern of Daniel 2 repeats in Daniel 7, and 8 with greater detail than before and culminates in a fulsome explanation in Daniel 11. Again, stick with us throughout our series (if possible go back to Daniel 1 and work your way through Daniel 12). Continue to critically evaluate everything we say and write. You can reach out to us directly through our website.

The Mareh is the word to describe Gabriel's appearance. He was sent to explain the vision of the Goat , Ram and the Little Horn, the 2300 literal days not (days for years), and the justification of the Holy. The Goat and the Ram are easy to recognise. The Little Horn is who caused great indignation , because this is the dynasty of Herod the Great , the imposter King who rose up to become King on David's throne. Herod slaughtered the Priests that were loyal to David the Host of heaven, he killed his brother in Law the High Priest the Prince of the host, a Hasmonean. Then he tried to Kill Christ the Prince of Princes. His son Herod is the one mentioned at the judgement of Jesus. Antipater gave the Romans access to the Temple treasury that caused the Jewish rebellion that ended 2300 days later with the fall of Masada. This justified the Holy.. Christ who foretold Jerusalem and the Temples destruction.

There are two word for vision in Daniel 8, namely the mareh and the chazown. Gabriel was instructed to inform Daniel of the mareh in Daniel 8. Later in Daniel 10, 11, and 12, the chazown is explained to Daniel. Both visions are related and begin at the same starting point of 457 B.C.. We explain the relationship between the two visions in our Daniel 8 video and then a comprehensive explanation of both visions in our Daniel 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 videos. One of the biggest errors circulating the Christian Church today is to interpret the 2300 evenings and mornings as a literal time period. This is an innocent mistake. The passage is talking about 2300 years. We explain why this is so and set lay the foundation for the entire book of Daniel in our Daniel 1 video. Another error circulating the church is to fail to see that both visions in Daniel 8 reveal significant information about Jesus Christ. The Bible is about the God-man Jesus Christ and we should expect and anticipate that the prophecies must also point to Christ. This was a fatal error of the Pharisees in that they could not discern Christ in the scriptures and did not understand when He first appeared. The Christian Church today is falling into that same pattern because what the prophecies in Daniel reveal is how close we are to the second coming of Christ and the events that must take place before He returns. Please critically evaluate all of our Daniel videos. Hold us to the highest Biblical standard. You be the judge.

@@AngelsintheGlen I have watched your series on Daniel 8 and checked the scripture myself. My conclusion is based on the Hebrew of scripture and then comparing this to recorded history of the books of Maccabbes and Josephus Wars of the Jews. for the period covering 457 BC -70 As I watched your video on Dan 8 I couldn't understand what your were trying to say in regard to the chazon and mareh so I did a word study on chazon and mareh. Both are to do with sight. One of the mind the other of the eye. Chazon is like a dream in sleep, but can occur when awake but in a trance. as Daniels vision of the Ram and Goat. Mareh is something that is seen with natural sight. . this is what Daniel saw when Gabriel appeared. Then the Holy One says " tell Daniel why you appeared ." Gabriel says "I have appeared to explain the chazon"... very simple but somehow you can't perceive this ???? As we know from the Tanach and Gospels, Israel was expecting Messiah would come and take the throne of David and rule forever. Daniel and his companions themselves couldn't understand the Chazon, because they believed the Messiah would come and take the throne of David and reign forever. But the chazon as explained by Gabriel was saying not so. A foreigner would rise up and take David's thrown. He would destroy all who opposed him, the heavenly host , are the Priests loyal to David, the Prince of the host is the High Priest the Stars are the Prophets and those who became desciples of the Prince of Princes , Messiah. The House of Herod preceded Christ and was removed from power at the uprising of the Jews in 66 that was triggered by the Roman Govenor Gessius Florus who defiled the Temple by raiding the Treasury and stealing the daily... the Temple Tax. Jews reacted violently the Romans and Greeks were slaughtered throughout Judeah.. even the Syrian Legion that was sent to quell the Jewish rebellion retreated and was wiped out by the Jews in fury for the desceratiionof the Temple by Gessius. For 2300 days the rebellion continued until Rome vanquished the last stronghold of rebellion at Masada in 73 AD. This is why God specified evenings and mornings .. literal days, yet such as yourself persist in saying they are days for years. God knew the 2300 would be misconstrued as days for years. Finally to cleanse the sanctuary I refer you to Ezekiel 45 :18 Here the reference in Hebrew is to "purify the sanctuary". This is different to Daniel 8 which in Hebrew is" justify the Holy. " This means the 2300 days will prove Jesus and His desciples as true. For Jesus foretold Jerusalem's desolation and Israel's exile as did his desciples. And for this they were hated by the Jews and why the words "desolation poured upon the desolate" describes the moment the Priests on the Temple mount who were fanatically fighting the Romans stood stunned and stupefied when they saw the Temple go up in flames because they witnessed the Words of Jesus and His Holy Desciples fulfilled. That was thend of the abomination 9that made Jerusalem desolate...the Stone Temple.. Jesus said when you see the abomination that makes desolate stand where it ought not... get out of Jerusalem and Judeah. When The Stone Temple is rebuilt..that is the sign of the final desolation of Jerusalem and the 2nd coming... there is no 7 yr period... Jesus gave only the Temple standing where I ought not as being the sign.

@@Exodus--bx3dd Please consider watching the video again and critically examining every word we say. Let’s examine the words chazown and mareh in Daniel 8. The word “chazown” is used three times in Daniel 8:1-2. This indicates that what Daniel sees next is the “chazown” The next time the word “chazown” is used is in verse 13 and it is a question about how long the “chazown” will be. However, the key is in verse 15. Notice that both the “chazown” and the “mareh” are used. Let’s reproduce the verse to be clear (I’m going to insert the Hebrew word where applicable in [brackets]. Daniel 8:15 (NASB) 15 When I, Daniel, had seen the vision [chazown], I sought to understand it; and behold, standing before me was one who looked [mareh] like a man. The word "looked" in the NASB is "mareh". Other Bible translations use the word "appearance". Either way, the Hebrew word is still "mareh". When Daniel saw the [chazown] he naturally sought to understand it, however, immediately following the chazown vision is a man standing before him. Daniel sees a man. This introduces a new vision. It is a new sight/appearance of a man. Notice in verse 16 that Gabriel is instructed to give Daniel an understanding of the [mareh] of the man (that was standing before Daniel.) Daniel 8:16 (NASB) 16 And I heard the voice of a man between the banks of Ulai, and he called out and said, "Gabriel, give this man an understanding of the vision [mareh]." The other key verse is Daniel 8:26. Notice the use of the two words “mareh” and “chazown”. Daniel 8:26 (NASB) 26 "The vision [mareh] of the evenings and mornings Which has been told is true; But keep the vision [chawon] secret, For it pertains to many days in the future." Please consider re-watching the video and pay close attention to the distinction between the two visions. Without an understanding of the distinction between the two visions and how they are related, one cannot properly interpret Daniel 9, 10, 11, and 12. We also recommend watching our Daniel 9 series (all 5 parts) where we go into great detail distinguishing the differences and significance of each vision. The both point to Christ. It is vitally important that when we study prophecy, we should find Christ. Since the entire Bible is about the God-man Jesus Christ, we should expect the prophecies to further reveal Him and shine greater light on the gospels. Any interpretation that fails to see Christ in these passages is missing out on deep truths.

@@AngelsintheGlen Yes caution required... understanding the word mareh... means to see with the eye... chazon is to see with the mind or Spirit. The Angel Gabriel suddenly materialising in front of Daniel in appearance as a man. Make this man understand why you have appeared. ( mareh) Understand the chazon is for the time of the end. So the Chazon is the Ram and the goats. The Mareh is Gabriel who came to Daniel as a man to explain the reason he appeared to Daniel , that is to explain the chazon. Gabriel breaks down the entire chazon including the 2300 evenings and mornings...literal days and the justification of the Holy.

@@Exodus--bx3dd Gabriel is not instructed to give Daniel an understanding about [his] appearance, but to understand the mareh vision. No where in the text does it say that Gabriel is to give an explanation of why he appeared. We can assure you that the mareh vision is not the appearance of Gabriel. For example, in Daniel 9:23 Gabriel visits Daniel again and instructs him to understand the mareh. (Daniel does not understand the mareh at the end of Chapter 8. Notice in Daniel 8:27 that Daniel was astounded at the mareh vision and there was none to explain it.) The word for vision in Daniel 9:23 is mareh. Gabriel explains the mareh to Daniel in Daniel 9:24-27. The mareh is seventy weeks long. This is a prophetic time period and must be interpreted as 490 literal years. The mareh is 490 literal years and begins with a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. The beginning is 457 B.C. Counting 490 years from 457 B.C. brings you to 27 A.D. This is the year that Jesus begins His ministry. All of this is explained in detail in our Daniel 9 videos as well as the relationship between the mareh and the chazown.

So is this a Seventh Day Adventist channel? Does it affirm Ellen White as a prophet?

@@AngelsintheGlen I read it. Nothing explicit about SDA or Ellen White. That's why I'm asking. Would you mind giving me a straight answer? Thanks.
