"Rome and Antiochus" Antiochus IV Epiphanes is NOT the Little Horn in Daniel - Doug Batchelor.
Scripture: Daniel 8:1-27, Luke 2:1, Matthew 24:15
Lesson: 10/14 in the series "The Gospel, 1844 and the Judgment".
The Bible gives ample evidence to help us correctly identify prophetic symbols in history, but other common interpretations defy the Scriptural evidence.
Amazing Facts have a Bible Study relating to this subject "Right on Time! Prophetic Appointments Revealed!" www.amazingfac...
From that study:
Question 3: In Daniel 8:8, 9, a little horn power arose next. What does the little horn represent?
Answer: The little horn represents Rome. Some have suggested that it represents Antiochus Epiphanes, a Seleucid king who ruled over Palestine in the second century before Christ and who disrupted the Jewish worship services. Others, including most leaders of the Reformation, have believed that the little horn represents Rome in both its pagan and papal forms. Let’s examine the evidence . . .
P.S. Comment from a viewer on "Rome & Antiochus" - “But the little horn arises out of the she goat, which represents Greece not Rome, so it can’t be the Papacy”
Can’t access the comment but the answer is “DANIEL 8 - The Sanctuary and the Little Horn - Doug Batchelor” • DANIEL 8 - The Sanctua... where is stated that the horn (Alexander) was broken into four (his 4 Generals [or 4 winds]) and out of one of them came a little horn (which one? history will lead us).
