You're right. I used to watch this show on Channel 9/WOR on Saturday mornings in1979. They used to show Doctor Who with Tom Baker after this.

Several years ago TVland began to air this Fess Parker Boone series and I was expecting to hear the lyrics I had described and was very surprised when I didn't. Thanks for giving me a direction to look in to see if I can find that old theme song.song.

Um dos melhores seriados da Tv Americana exibidos aqui no Brasil nos anos 80. Todo mundo em casa adorava. Tenho a coletania lançada em DVD aqui no Brasil e assisto até Hoje.

Fess Parker, a television icon to a generation of youngsters as Davy Crockett and later Daniel Boone, has died at the age of 85 of natural causes. on march 18th 2010. Rip Fess Parker you will be missed

@meandkylieBFF The real Daniel Boone is related to me by marriage that I know of.His younger brother,Squire Boone,jr. married Jane van Cleave,who was a aunt several times over.

There were three versions of this song, the original, the classic and the groovy. It this the classic version. The groovy version was sung by the Imperials. The others studio groups?

I remember another Daniel Boone theme with the words. Guess no man'll ever beat Dan'll. Guess no man'll ever beat Dan'll, ever beat Dan'll Boone. Can anybody tell me where that comes from?

@Dracopol this sound nothing like the "hippified " music of the 60"s .. what kind of drugs are you taking? a few tabs of LSD maybe? that might explain the weird audio hallucinations you seem to be having about this theme..

This may be hard for you to believe, but people like Daniel Boone DID have long hair back then. as well as mullet-style hair. The reason that you think that Boone had short hair was because of the movies of the '30's, '40's and '50's that depicted people of the past as having short hair, when in all likelihood, they did not. Hippies have NOTHING to do with it.

I liked the episode with Aaron Burr in it and his conspiracy to try and break away from the US and set up a seperate govt. Taken from actual history (many details are controversial and in dispute however).

@wilburhog NO TV show should be required in American schools. These rude, illiterate brats are staring at screens all day long; that's what's wrong with them to begin with. Still, this is a good show.

The show went downhill after Ed Ames left [thanks to that gawshawful hit he had MY CUP RUNNETH OVER]. He felt as though he should get his music career back in order

I don't like this theme, not what *I* was used to. It's rock and roll, hippified late 60's stuff, more suited to Austin Powers' pad than the American frontier.

@Dracopol - Stop sniffing around like a puffed up popinjay and get a life! It was a kids series way back in the day. The theme music was typical of the era that he show was broadcast.
