I normally dont watch fight analysis but because DC has so much history with them, I had to watch it. I actually went down memory lane with 13 yr old me seeing the rivalry with DC and Jones manifest. The UFC was so different back in the day. You either lose as a hero or fight long enough to see yourself become the villain. Jon Jones is that Villain.
@joesalyers10 күн бұрын
Stipe has an 80 inch reach and I can't remember Jones fighting anyone that close to his 84 inch reach? So the normal places Jon Jones feels safe striking with other opponents he won't be safe against Stipe. The major factor will be can Stipe keep up in speed at 42 or will he be overwhelmed by Jones' speed and quickness. Also will Jon Shoot on Stipe in the first 2 minutes? I think Jon sees a submission in Round 1 as his best option to gain victory quickly. Jones has been training with all of those guys like Gordon Ryan and that seems to be Jon's game plan at this weight class. But Jones' footwork has slowed over the last few fights and if Stipe can be proactive and push the pace this might be a really good fight. It will either be a 1 round decimation or long drawn out war but nothing in between.
@mrspiff695510 күн бұрын
Jon has put on weight and won’t have a speed advantage over Stipe. And Stipe is a good wrestler and is very tough. I’m sure he’s been preparing for Jon’s wrestling. If Jon can’t get it done in the first 2 rounds, he’ll be in serious trouble. Stipe is very difficult to put away. Jon is not Ngannou.
