When the returning champ comes back to fight, by the rules, the interim is stripped if the interim holder does not return to fight the champ. Not by toms fault but he might get stripped and fight for vacant.
@NickySpades
@NickySpades 10 күн бұрын
@@threecubed3 no chance. If Jon wants to continue to call himself the heavyweight champion of the world after the Stipe fight he has to face Tom or HE should be stripped of the title. In any other organization it would've already happened given Jones hasn't fought since he won the title 3-4 years ago.

Algorithm comment so more folks see Aspinall. He's a champion in and out of the ring. Ridiculously quick and powerful, and a top-tier likeable human being. The way he puts aside his "sour grapes" to honestly appraise the fight without vitriol is admirable. I'm not a football man, but Akinfenwa was great fun too.

The only thing stopping Tom from being the best heavyweight we've ever seen is that the other 'best heavyweights' won't fight him. Ngannou wouldn't have ducked him, that would've been a true fight for HW all time greatness.

@@Kal-e3t Stipe is done man he's been done for half a decade. Jon is on his last legs none of these fighters give Tom the title of all time greatness. If he fought both in their prime and Francis then sure. Unfortunately for Tom's legacy he has no one like them in the wings. He's had ZERO challenge he's really good but not that good its a reflection of his average competition. Just think of the athletic HW freaks in boxing in the 90's not these slow uncoordinated elephants swinging for the fences.

I hope Tom does get a match with Jon, but true MMA fans know neither of these guys is afraid to face each other. They’re just at different stages in their careers. Jon is focused on solidifying his legacy in MMA history. As for Tom, I’m paraphrasing here, but he’s said he’s in this for a short run-to make as much money as possible and move on quickly. That’s a smart strategy if he wants to avoid the long-term wear and tear that can come with a lengthy fight career.

We need more "Fun" footage from Aspinall on the streets, talking to people. I know it's called "The Fight Lab" but it should be more like Dana White's show, "Lookin' For a Fight" which is hilarious. Aspinall's interaction with people is good content, and we need to see him doing more bizarre things, like hanging out with Magnus the KZbin rock climber.
