Credit to both fighters for taking this fight so early in their careers, as neither had a real reason to jeopardise their records. Gorman as the supposed better boxer struggled, and a lot of his shots were thrown off the back foot which meant he couldn’t deliver his power. Dubois gave a very solid and ‘schooled’ performance and stuck to the plan throughout even when he had Gorman in trouble. Gorman can take a lot from his performance and will rebuild and crack on, while Dubois will now be the one immediately finding out a bit more about himself as he’ll now have to be put in with fighters at the next level. Great fight lads 👍

@Henry Tudor I mean Gorman is probably a top 100 heavyweight boxer in the world. Maybe top 50. (Today not all time.. def not.) I mean he isn't great but like, it's impressive that so much of Tysons family is as impressive as they are. DDD is far beyond Gorman and so is like everyone AJ has fought but he is 16-1 against names. Not like big names. I'm giving gorman a realistic compiment. There's a lot of heavy weights and he's aight.

@@tullochgorum6323 Yes he was utterly outclassed,I kinda bought into his hype because he seemed so confident, and dd almost admitting he had got the beating of him 4 year's ago during gb team, but I guess dd is just not that confident in front of cameras, thus what appeared as submissive in fact was shyness. Having not seen much of him though I bought that hype (for reasons above) but having watched how he fought I wonder how he trained for this, because in hindsight he looks a bit chubby (ik that was just shown to not be everything with Ruiz) I wonder if he thought he just needed to turn up,its hard to motivate yourself if feeling that way,and it's possible he thought he had to engage given it was his big coming out party (or was meant to be) and got carried away in the moment,I'd like to see him fight again to see if he has the ability I hear he does, but he will need to work his way back to a rematch with dd after showing he can box at this level against some of the others in his lane.

Daniel Dubois showed the kind of maturity and control that I hadn't seen from him in his previous fights. I like his progression. He looks to be something special. I must say that Great Britain seems to be producing the kind of heavyweight materials the world has been waiting for for a long time. In ages past Britain only produced 1 in years, and even decades. The crop of heavyweights Britain is producing at the moment only gets the true boxing fan and analyst excited. I can't wait to see them shake up the world like they're already starting to do.

I remembered one point years ago, i had a theory that the jab wins fights not the power shots that follow, I practised my left jab only for about 3 months non- stop(I don't recommend doing that tho) and that changed my fight game for life. This is fight science.

Daniel's jab has improved a lot. It's faster than before. He dominated that fight behind his jab. He still misses a lot when the punches start flying. He should move forward and get in closer when he unloads his combinations, he sometimes seems to be out of range when he throws his big punches. He's improving fast though. Kinda like Mike Tyson but a little less aggressive. Mike was a wrecking machine because he closed in on his opponents so fast that they didn't have time to set themselves, and then he threw very fast devastatingly accurate punches in bunches. If Daniel starts to fight like that he will destroy all before him. He maybe a quiet lad outside the ring, but inside the ring he's a monster and he's getting faster and better with each fight.

Gormon's inability to slip the jab with head movement disappointed me. Dubois impressed. Gorman didn't - he should take lessons from his relative Tyson Fury. I also think it was a mistake to give up on his own jab. When he got knocked out, it was a double left jab that turned Gormon's head to his right then Dubois caught him with a right hand on the top left of his head from an angle where Gorman might not have seen it due to his turned head. Gorman's game plan was to counter so he needed to slip better to execute that plan. BTW, I like Dubois's use of body shots with the left hand.

@Steven Hickman full credit to dubois I expected gorman to use plenty of jabs and do plenty of circling but instead he decided to almost stand in front of dubois and wildly swing? I have seen gorman box with other opponents I can only assume ego got in the way. He was never going to beat dubois with them tactics. Onwards and upwards for dubois. He is only 21 so can spend a couple of years gaining European experience as fury will not be in this game longer than another 2 years and he would be ready to challenge anybody then. Dubois took his maturity and patience up a notch in this fight which was impressive.

Dubois was supposed to be the big puncher with little boxing skill, then Gorman was supposed to be the skilled boxer who would outbox Dubois. In the end, I’d argue Dubois was both the big puncher AND the skilled boxer, he simply outboxed Gorman, using the jab to set up combinations and big right hands. Gorman was outboxed and overpowered.

To add leverage to even a hook,or ability to fire inside on a leaned in step, must have toned mid section.Gorman is sad specimen of conditioning.Ruiz caught Joshua in a state of nerve drain, fighters should not expect to not put the time in and compete with the elite on global scale. When throwing a blind hook, must step inside to give it mustard, not set idle for a weak attempt.

Only bad thing about dubois is he has zero head movement he needs to fix that before he gets the top heavyweights

Will be very interesting to see how far Dubois can go; sure he's very much a work in progress but he sure seems to have the tools.

Gorman as a fighter can't be hiding his face and taking eyes off his opponents and be throwing blows in the air like Beyonce. Needs to wake if he wants to get to the top. Showed much speed in training but executed none.

The Welsh commentator is absolutely clueless, Gorman was totally outclassed all fight long just spending most of the fight swinging wildly, but that Welsh block kept trying to make out that the fight was close and when Gorman threw a nothing shot he'd be like wow great shot by Gorman.

Horrible stoppage. If that ref was at fury vs wilder. Wilder would of won.

Gorman didn’t throw enough straight jabs, even double up on the jab and didn’t throw enough faints either, way to passive, just let him beat him up. Obviously easier said than done, but what he was doing just didn’t work.
