Remember when Daniel said the light doesn’t scatter properly here? I think there’s a bubble around the island, when outside this bubble you can’t see the island because it bens light. When traveling through the bubble there’s a time displacement. That’s why the sunlight and other things don’t act properly when going through that bubble. When going through the Bubble people see it as a Lightning storm. Helicopters and when Desmond came to the island on the sailboat also the blackrock .But there’s only one way in and one way out. That’s why Michael & lapidus had a follow certain coordinates to leave the island and that’s why Desmond couldn’t leave on the sailboat.That’s why the rocket arrived at a different time also, when the Oceanic six came back to the island it went from night to day, but the time displacement was more off because the turning of the donkey wheel. When lapidus Desmond and Sayid left the island to go to the freighter, they landed on the freighter 41hours later... I studied physics,theoretical physics, quantum mechanics and electric magnetism my entire life, I loved this part of the show. They were right on point. One more thing every time the donkey wheel is turned the time displacement and Bubble gets worse. What do you guys think?

Payload arrived 30 mins late. That could be possible if spacetime is kinda stretched. But they were talking, so the radio waves were travelling fine. So the distance measure should be fine. Only explanation I could come up is the island was constantly moving and hence the time dilation.

It's not good because such a result can only be the result of extreme spacetime curvature. Faraday knows this curvature cannot be of gravitational origin as the island feels normal, so there must be some form of exotic matter on the island and a lot of it to boot.

I love Dan! He's got a cool story, and I have a feeling he'll solve some of the mysteries for us. Sometimes, they introduce new characters, and you just fall in love with them. It's like the introduction of Desmond all over again (another great character.)

I'm not sure if this is what they were going for but In my science class we are learning how gravity effects how clocks run/time moves, The stronger the gravitational force the slower time moves. Assuming the light is a huge gravitational force it would explain that time on the island thus moves slower.

Gravity slows time. I think the electromagnetism at the heart of the island was also acting kinda heavy gravity to slow time.

No, that would make it pretty impossible for everyone to be in the same time periode, wouldn't it? I mean Desmond, Oceanic 815, the Frighter... they all come from the same time and are on the same time on the island, even though they arrived thru different 'entrances'.
