The E.U. seems to be a clear refutation of the concept of multiculturalism. The only reason the U.S. works is that it originated as a fairly homogenous experiment in democracy. Amazingly clear-sighted in recognizing that, even within a fairly homogenous population, democracy is fatally flawed, the framers of our system figured out some truly great mechanisms to hold it all together without resorting to monarchy or anarchy. Recognizing and respecting individuals' rights and will while still somehow serving their collective interests is the political transliteration of quantum physics. IMO, the principles set forth in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution are the most recent positive evolutionary political leap since the Magna Carta. Keep up the good work, Ben. Your selection of guests for these specials continues to impress.

@@kevinjohnanand It's very much a bad thing. British conservatives aren't conservative, at all. Brits have two choices when we vote: left, or far left. The one time we had the opportunity to vote for something else (Brexit), we jumped at it, and then left and far left teamed up to thwart it.
@kevinjohnanand

@@kevinjohnanand What are you talking about? Viable political parties in the UK are the Tories and Labour, with Lib Dems coming up the flanks. The Brexit debacle has given the Brexit Party an opening to create an actual conservative party but, until then, the UK doesn't have an actual conservative party. The Tories are big government liberals; they've raised taxes; they've opened the borders; they're globalist social liberals. Brits do not have an actual conservative party to vote for. We have the Conservatives - who stopped being conservative when Thatcher was removed - and Labour, who are full-on commies.

Absurd that Hannan claims Boris is a secret genius (true) but Trump is a moron... then 10 minutes later acknowledges America is doing better than it has in years. I'm a pro-Brexit Brit, and Boris has unfortunately capitulated every single step of the way; Trump, meanwhile, has almost single-handedly rescued America from the brink in the face of unprecedented pressure. In fact Boris was too cowardly to meet with Trump when he was in the UK recently. I've honestly never been more grateful that I moved to the US.

FTR, Hannan wrote a scathing anti-Trump, pro-Amash screed in the Washington Examiner when Amash was making a public spectacle of himself. Everything Hannan says is filtered through his dislike of the uncouth, dumb American president. A lot of British people think themselves fundamentally superior to Americans - it's NeverTrump, only with tea. It's smug, ugly, and delusional.
